Report of the Trustees for the year from 1 August, 2023 to 31 July, 2024
The chairman reported as previously, that there was minimal operational / reportable financial activity in the year covered by this report.
In the previous financial year, it was reported that:
-
“Efforts were again devoted to identifying and pursuing potential opportunities, creation of operational partnerships and establishing sponsorship arrangements to support of the organisation’s purposes.
-
Funding agencies and grant-awarding bodies, including those connected to the Scottish Government, have continued (on policy grounds) to reject requests for financial support from an intermediary “distributive” organisation such as The Scottish Games Trust.”
The foregoing position persists. In the absence of adequate financial reserves for distribution to potential beneficiaries, it was necessary to avoid creating expectations that could not be fulfilled. The Trustees continued to monitor the position. In the absence of a more accessible financial environment, the Trustees propose to dissolve the Charity.
Charity Trustees
It was agreed by the Trustees at the third Annual General Meeting held virtually on 25 October, 2024, ould retire. He was re-elected to office at the subsequent Board Meeting, held virtually on the same date.
