Committee Membern The Committee Members who served during the year to 28th February, 2025 were as Appointtnent and Recrultment of Gommitt8e Members The organisation is govemed by a committee whose members are atpointed in tems of the organisabons constitution. ObJ•cllvos and Actlvltlg8 Kinneil Band is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. Its purpo are the Ivancement of education, arKI the athIanment of the arts, hetitage, culturè, or scien through the operaiion of a brass band. Achievèments and Perfomiance During the period 1 March 2024 to 28 February 2025. the barKI had another busy year. In March 2024. the band conyeted in the Scottish Championships. Unfortunately the result did not go in the Band's favour and we were relegated to th8 First Section but the band is working hard to ieturn to Ihe top section in banding in the futtire. In Aprll 2024, the band partipaled in a fundraising concert for our local church along wrth the church organist. We aso competed in trE Bntish Open Spring Festival in Blackpool in 2024 and agawi secured our retum to this contest for next year. The month of June saw the band busy with Gala Days and culminating at the end of June in the Bo'ness Fair. One Sunday aftemoon in August we also held a free concert in the bandstand of the local park which was very well attended. We competed in the West of Swtland Entertanment Contest on 31 August 2024 Troon and c3me a very credible 4th. Our Annual cOrrt was held in September and this gave us an cpportunrty to showcase our Ihriving Youth Band. In November 2024. as well as adIng the Remembtance Parades in Falkirk and Bo'ness. the Band competed in the Scottish Open Brass Band Contest under th8 direclion of our new Musical Director and the Youth Band also compeled in the Youth Band Championships. Dernber was aJain a very busy month for the band with two Christmas Concerts and playing Christrnas Carols in local supemiarkets and around the communrty of Bo'r& Vthilst s(Yne of the band's resutts in )ntests have not
been in our favwr this year. as a band w¥E have continued to retan our players wth limited tumover which is sadly not case for many bands across the UK who are struggling for players. We are lookiru fOard to the new year with our new Musical Director and continuing lo make music arKI enlertaining our local community and beyond. Fdlowing the devastating fire in 2019, which resutted in our band hall being very badly damaged and not able to be used, and after a greal deal of discussions with the Insurer8 including the involvement of the Ombudsman, we received part of the financial settkment during the year which is reflected in the accounts. Discussions have cornmenc£d a local arChrtt to scope our options going forward for either a rebuild of our existing band hall (K a rÉw replament and during the comiThJ year this will be progressed furtlEr. Financial Review The Charity aims to generate sufficient funds to rnaintain operations. There is a surplus for the year of £141.240 c(xnpared to a surplus last year of £774. The charity held unrestricle(I funds of £194.609 at the year end and the committee consider that this will enabb us to support the actNrties which are planned for the forthcoming year, including work on the band hall. As noted above the accounts include an insurance settlement of £173,467 in relatn to fire damage of the band hall, leading to a large surplus and fvnds carrEd forward.
