The Trust operates and manages the Kilmuir Hall, which has become the ‘community hub’ for Kilmuir, with a wide range of regular and one-off activities that are much appreciated by residents, visitors and the wider population of Skye. The Trust aims to help the local community build a strong, inclusive and sustainable future for the Kilmuir community by advancing community development, providing visitor and resident facilities, promoting and sustaining the Gaelic language, local arts, heritage and culture.

Objectives: 4 The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 To advance community development in the Kilmuir area by: 4.1.1 Identifying local needs. 4.1.2 Managing and developing a community plan based on these needs and creating a sense of community ownership of this plan. 4.1.3 Setting out a programme for addressing these needs with the aim of improving the social and physical quality of life for the whole community. 4.2 To advance arts, heritage and culture for the Kilmuir community and wider public who visit the area by: 4.2.1 Celebrating and promoting our local Gaelic culture. 4.2.2 preserving and promoting the local history and traditions in the area. 4.2.3 Providing opportunities for members of the community to participate in and experience a wide variety of art forms. 4.3 To provide recreational facilities in the Kilmuir area by: 4.3.1 Taking ownership of and operating Kilmuir village hall. 4.3.2 Working with the community and other local organisations for the provision of outdoor facilities.
