BSTK aims to promote of the advancement of science in the theory of knowledge by providing a
forum for the communication of research in the theory of knowledge aimed at stimulating
scientific debate, providing opportunities for the public to participate in said debate, or
improving the public understanding of the theory of knowledge, through a programme of
conferences and meetings featuring contributions by professional academics working in the
theory of knowledge, subject to peer review to be organised by a subcommittee appointed by the
board. BSTK also aims to promote the advancement of education in the theory of knowledge by
publishing online or in academic journals contributions to the events mentioned, subject to peer

Details of any deficit
Donated facilities and services (if any)
BSTK does not operate a reserves policy. This is because
unforeseen costs can be excluded. BSTK does not have any standing
expenses. It is hosted by the University of Glasgow’s COGITO
Epistemology Research Centre, and so incurs no costs for real estate
and runs no risks of unforeseen costs relating to real estate. BSTK’s
funding will come largely from membership subscriptions and
fundraising events. The expenses for attainment of its aims are
either free (publication in academic journals) or flexible (number
and size of events organised by BSTK) will be constrained by
BSTK’s income (and perhaps supplemented by attendance fees or
funding institutions/projects hosting BSTK events).
None
The University of Glasgow kindly provided BSTK with a residence
and the resources for receiving mail.
