Welcome from our Chair
Welcome to our second annual review! Despite the limitations of Covid 19, we end the year on a high after welcoming a party of local Syrians to three baking workshops delivered by our team. Our operations continue to be enabled through the generosity of donors and a variety of fundraising activities including a pop up bakery and cake sale. One of our even supporters took part in the Kiltwalk to raise funds.
Once again, on behalf of the Board, I would like to thank all our supporters, and particularly our staff, for their hard work, dedication and commitment to our mission to support survivors of human trafficking in Scotland.

Our Mission
We work in partnership with others to raise awareness of human trafficking and to provide a restoration programme for those affected.
We also extend this programme to include other vulnerable people, specifically those with life-controlling issues, namely prostitution and domestic and sexual abuse victims.
Our Approach
In order to fulfil this mission we provide:
-
Befriending by volunteers. Partnering with local churches, we work to establish a working relationship with our client, ensuring they are aware we are firmly for them, walking alongside them, supporting them and that they see our desire for them to become independent in the future.
-
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) training. Learning the English language can help to: reduce isolation and improve mental health and wellbeing; encourage social networks; support progression into further learning; support integration and community cohesion; improve employment opportunities; and promote positive working relations within the workplace.
-
Baking workshops. Participants will learn basic skills, including different styles of bread baking, basic sponge cakes and the skills needed to create these recipes.

Summary of main achievements and progress
Exodus91 was set up with the specific purpose of supporting survivors of human trafficking in Scotland. The charity would work in partnership with others to raise awareness of this issue and also to provide a Restorative intervention.
The initial period has concentrated on the setting up of the charity, the building of key partnerships. and exploring funding opportunities. The period of this report saw that moving forward in a more practical way to test the programme.
In May 2022 a pilot workshop was held to test the programme and work out practical details re delivery and content. While this was a successful pilot and many lessons were learned, it has become clear that the charity needed to look to collaborate with a larger organisation and potentially beyond Fife to meet its core aims with regards to people who have been trafficked. In short, there was little or no demand for the delivery of this programme in West Fife.
This situation is under review to establish the best path for the work of Exodus91 moving forward.

The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees |
