**What the charity does:** SWBG that aims to promote gender analysis in public policy and finance decisions through budgetary processes. SWBG brings together a wide range of women from across Scotland who have an interest in women’s equality and want to achieve better gender equality in our society.    We do this by:    Supporting capacity building and awareness raising within Local Authorities through tailored training and support on gender budgeting.     Advocating for the use of gender budgeting at the national level.    Gathering evidence and publishing research to influence government’s policies and investment.    Working with other women’s groups. Some of these groups include Glasgow Disability Alliance, Making Rights Real and Fa’side Women and Girls, Amina (Muslim Women’s Resource Centre), MECOPP and the Young Women’s Movement.

**Objectives:** 3 Purposes The SWBG purposes are to advance education and the promotion of equality and diversity through: 3.1 working with women, communities, statutory and voluntary agencies, trades unions and other partners - including government - to build capacity of understanding of gender budgeting and increase engagement in the budget process. 3.2 developing training in gender budget analysis to show how public spending can be made more effective and responsive to the lives of women in Scotland. 3.3 training and awareness raising of gender budget analysis methods and how they might be applied in local and national government budget processes. 3.4 advocating for greater equality for women and men in Scotland by engaging with the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Government to make decisions about how public money is spent fairer and more equitable. 3.5 supporting and disseminating research on the impact of gender budget analysis to enable understanding and application.
