Objectives and activities
Charitable purposes
The organisation’s purposes are: 4.1 The promotion of equality and diversity by the inclusion of disabled people in Highland (regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, or sex) in participative and representative decision-making, including influencing the practice and delivery of public services in Highland. (As set out in clauses 121.4 and 121.5, the Social Model of Disability explains that “Disabled People” are disabled by barriers in society); 4.2 The advance of education by raising awareness of the social model of disability in Highland through the delivery of Disability Equality Training and Continuing Professional Development; 4.3 The advancement of citizenship and community development by bringing together the collective voices and networks of disabled people and their allies in Highland; 4.4 The advancement of human rights, conflict resolution, or reconciliation by working with local decision makers, allied organisations and individuals in Highland to protect and uphold the rights of disabled people.
Due to the restriction of the Covid 19 Pandemic this year mainly saw us developing and strengthening the board of HighAbility.
It was realized that due to the geography of the area the charity covers(the Highlands) and the demographic of our members we will increase and develop our digital footprint and become largely a digital DPO fit for the 21[st] century. With this in mind we have been building networks with charities that can support and develop the disabled community with IT for example Abilitynet and charity digital.

Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the financial period
The charity was incorporated on 29[th] April 2020 at the beginning of the Covid19 pandemic. This restricted the work we could do.
1[st] AGM, established the trustees and strengthened the board. 25 pieces of governance written and adopted. Completed membership and trustees induction packs. 7 development sessions. 13 board meetings. Developed networks within the disability community and the third sector. Opened a bank account. Took part and developed the Highland Disability Covid 19 survey and summit.
Financial review
Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves
During this financial year we had £10 donated to enable us to open a bank account. Once we have secured funding, we aim to build up reserves to cover 3 months activity.

| Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner |
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees |

| Basis of independent examiner’s statement |
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the |
| charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes | |
| consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks | |
| explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken | |
| do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do | |
| not express an audit opinion on the viewgiven bythe accounts. | |
