Objectives: 4.1 The advancement of education of school pupils, staff and community groups throughout Scotland by provision of bespoke training and support services empowering schools and groups within the community to improve communication, understanding and empathy with members with a serious Mental Health illness, suicide and bereavement using early intervention and preventative strategies. 4.2 The advancement of health and wellbeing (physical and mental) of the inhabitants of West Lothian and throughout Scotland in particular but not exclusively by the provision of counselling and support services and practical support to individuals and families affected by long term Mental Health illnesses and bereavement. 4.3 The saving of lives with our effort to develop and recommend best practice in suicide prevention, delivering mental health first aid training and physical first aid training to teach lifesaving skills. We will encourage the conduct of training and development of standards nationally to advance Mental and Physical Health. We will promote uniformity concerning lifesaving equipment, public information, symbols and laws for control in line with the Scottish regulations. We will host conferences for the purpose of exchanging information, creating links of friendship and encouraging collaboration among members and other Mental Health bodies which pursue the same humanitarian goals. 4.4 The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended – ie of the health, education, wellbeing and conditions of children, young people and adults with Mental Health issues, related illnesses and their families and friends, and those bereaved by suicide, both from our East Calder base within West Lothian and through outreach and support groups throughout Scotland. 4.5 The promotion of equality and diversity targeting all ages. The organisation will work towards (a) the of stigma against mental health (b) advancing education and raising awareness of the stigma of mental health (c) promoting activities to enhance understanding between people who do and do not suffer mental illness (d) conducting, funding or commissioning research on the stigma of mental health and how to end it and potentially publishing the results to the public
