Some Highlights of the Year
Although we have many recurring events and outings to the cinema, | theatre etc we also try to vary what we offer so that all of our ! members’ interests are catered for. Here are some of the events we | have organised.
On 29 April 2024 we invited [MM to come along and share | some stories of his experience of 34 years working in the local prison, | HMP Dumiries. It was an opportunity to hear first hand what prison life | is like, the type of prisoners it houses and to ask questions about his experiences.

Future plans
| Our members have always contributed to the organising and running | of the group, but we would like to organise regular meetings to support | those who head up the various recurring events.
We were unable to find anyone to deliver safeguarding training in 2023/4 but we hope to arrange this in the coming year.
The search for a permanent, more accessible rented meeting room is ongoing.
