Summary of the main activities Work towards the creation of an all-abilities path from Rigside to the in relation to these objects Nature Reserve that is connected to the local and regional footpath and cycle path networks. Maintenance activities (invasive weed removal and rubbish clearance) for the purpose of keeping footpaths clear. Wildflower and native tree planting, maintenance of bird and bat boxes, tree pruning and coppicing, orchard tree pruning and maintenance. Maintain and improve access to the Reserve, reduce the amount of dogfouling by providing a waste bag dispenser and guidance notices. Protect against pollution from overflowing water at surface level from old mine workings.

Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of | Further efforts to get and all-users footpath from Rigside to Loudon Pond, the charity during the financial period . including asking our MP to contact South Lanarkshire Council, and involvement through Rigside and Douglas Water Community Council to influence South Lanarkshire Council via the Douglas Valley Advisory Group and participation in the Local Development Plan. We are trying to ensure that the proposed Clydesdale Way link between the River Ayr Way and the Clyde Walkway passes through Loudon Pond and includes an all-users path to Rigside. : Ongoing maintenance work to keep footpaths clear, ad-hoc planting of : trees, wildflowers and flower bulbs, cleaning out bird boxes ready for use ‘ next year. CCI are no longer able to help with the maintenance work we have been working to find alternative help. Community Payback has strimmed paths & orchard and cleared main paths. s. : : Making the nature reserve more inviting to visitors with new gates and ; - seating. Cleared trees around the pond to open it up as advised. : _ Instigating an investigation into whether the water overflowing from old : mine workings is polluting the Ponfeigh Burn that feeds the pond. We are. _ getting the water tested and making plans to tackle whatever pollution : there is.
