**What the charity does:** The purpose of the Group is to protect and manage the Rigside and Douglas Water Community Nature Reserve at Loudon Pond for the benefit of the whole community of Rigside, Douglas Water and the Douglas Valley, and for the benefit of the wider community beyond Douglasdale,  By working towards the creation of an all-abilities path from Rigside to the Nature Reserve that is connected to the local and regional footpath and cycle path networks.   By carrying out maintenance activities (invasive weed removal and rubbish clearance) for the purpose of keeping footpaths clear. Wildflower and native tree planting, maintenance of bird and bat boxes, tree pruning and coppicing, orchard tree pruning and maintenance.  Maintaining and improving access to the Reserve, trying to reduce the amount of dog-fouling by providing a waste bag dispenser and guidance notices.  Protecting against pollution from overflowing water at surface level from old mine workings.

**Objectives:** The purpose of the Group is to protect and manage the Rigside and Douglas Water Community Nature Reserve at Loudon Pond for the benefit of the whole community of Rigside, Douglas Water and the Douglas Valley, and for the benefit of the wider community beyond Douglasdale, the Group's objects being the advancement of education and the creation of an environmental site for the benefit of people of all ages and improving access to the area for the benefit of the whole community of Rigside, Douglas Water and Douglas Valley and for the benefit of the wider community beyond Douglasdale.
