## **Objectives and activities** 

Charity Heroes was formed in 2018 by Fiona Irvine, Director at Rainbow HR, along with Carol Jenkins and Jannine Russell from ScotRail. Having successfully organised a range of charity fundraising events to support the Railway Benefit Fund and other nominated charities, the team were joined by Rebecca Nicholson at the start of 2020. Following the pandemic, the team have returned to running a main fundraising event in the form of a lunch or dinner with entertainment, an auction and various raffles. 

## **Structure, governance and management** 

The governing document for Charity Heroes is a constitution. 

## **Achievements and performance** 

The Enchanted Ball took place on 31st October 2025, and we were delighted to raise £8,500 for the British Heart Foundation, funding lifesaving research for the 730,000 people living in Scotland today with heart and circulatory diseases, giving people more time with loved ones and keeping families together for longer. 

The event was held at the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow and began with a cocktail reception, followed by entertainment from dancers and tarot card readers. The evening was hosted by Gina McKee, with a three-course dinner served in gorgeous surroundings. Guests enjoyed a range of fundraising initiatives, including various raffles, a bottle stand and an auction with prizes generously donated by local businesses and supporters. The evening concluded with a DJ and dancing. 

As in previous years, the event was organised by the same small, dedicated group of volunteers. Securing raffle prizes, auction lots and sponsorship donations continues to be increasingly challenging given the current economic climate, and the committee is grateful to all businesses and individuals who generously supported the event despite these pressures.

## **Future plans** 

2026 will be the final year of Charity Heroes' fundraising activities. The committee plans to hold one final fundraising event in aid of The Honeypot Children's Charity, after which Charity Heroes will be formally wound up.
