Structure, governance and management
Type of governing document
The charity is a Scottish charitable incorporated organisation {SCIO) and
therefore has a constitution as a governing document. It wa5 registered
as a charity on the 4th of March 2020 and has a single tier structure,
meaning the trustees are the charities sole members.
Trustee recruitment and appointment
| The trustees were those appointed as the charity board of trustees when
the organisation was established and thereafter at the charities AGM
(annual general meeting) and by way of a resolution passed by the
majority of the board vote. There may be a minimum of three and a
maximum of eight trustees at any one time.
Charitable purposes
i The purpose of the charity is to support the community. to advance the
provision of a recreational facilities and activities through providing a
community venue and a range of recreational activities that allow those
in Carstairs Junction to make use of their leisure time.
The advancement of health and wellbeing through providing the means
| for those in the area to remain socially and mentally active to reduce
l isolation and maintain andlor approve their health and wellbeing
Summary of the main activities
in relation to these objects
We will continue with the Activity Café, Knitting Club, Gardening Clubs,
Foodbanks along with day trips and events for all families in the
community and surrounding areas.

of the charity during the financial
period
Our volunteers have participated in a First AidlCPRIDefib workshop and
have a full First Aid training course booked for the near future.
l Our Xmas and Easter events were very well attended.
l Our Foodbank was able to provide food parcels to more families within
| the community.

on reserves
Our focus for now is to secure more funding to ensure we can continue
to deliver services to our community and surrounding areas and to
ensure the organisation conkn'nues to thrive.

I South Lanarkshire Council has leased us the community flat at 39
Coronation Street Carstairs Junction for a £1 a year.
