## **Independent examiner's report on the accounts**
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention
1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
- to keep accounting records in accordance with section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations, and
- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations
have not been met, or
2. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **Structure, Governance and Management**
## **Constitution**
The charity is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). It was registered in its current legal form on 24th January 2020
## **Appointment of trustees**
The management committee, which meets quarterly, are the charity’s trustees. Membership of the management committee is open to service users and volunteers. To allow for some continuity of the committee it is also open to interested members of the community.
Trustees are elected at the annual general meeting which is held in February. There must be a minimum of three and a maximum of five trustees.

## **Objectives and Activities**
## **Charitable purposes**
The advancement of human rights, conflict resolution or reconciliation -to promote repair and connection in relationships and reduce the fight and flight response in previously reactive children. To teach parents to de-escalate potentially explosive interactions.
The relief of those in need-to support placements in crisis and prevent families breaking down. To support parents to better support children suffering from trauma. To build a safe and loving environment for traumatised children to learn to heal.
## **Objectives**
To bring an awareness to the importance of a trauma informed approach when managing children's extremely challenging behaviour due to trauma or Neurodivergence. To help the adults see the fear that they and the child are living in, how that affects relationships and behaviours and equip them with skills to change dysfunctional generational paterns
## **Activities**
TIP offer fully funded online and in-person workshops across Scotland for parents and caregivers to highlight the importance of a Trauma Informed approach. In the last 7 years TIP have reached over 10,000 parents and caregivers with this information. Where funding allows the charity offers this across the UK. They also offer on-going support and learning to maintain this change long term.
## **Fundraising**
In May 2025 TIP took part in a fundraising fire walk to raise funds. When booking workshops there is an option to donate if participants wish to. A 30 day link to the workshop recording is also available for a donation.
## **Reserves policy**
The trustees have a policy to maintain free reserves at a level equivalent to three months of unrestricted operating expenditure, to provide a contingency for income fluctuations and ensure continuity of services. At Year End January 2026 we had a total of £62,631.05 restricted reserves and £22,413.38 unrestricted reserves, and therefore we are in line with our reserves policy.

## **Plans for future period**
The trustees intend to continue to develop the service further and increase capacity to meet the growing demand.

## **1 Basis of accounting**
These accounts have been prepared on the Receipts and Payments basis in accordance with the Charities & Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 (as amended) and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended)
## **2 Nature and prupose of funds**
Unrestricted funds are those that may be used at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the objects of the charity.
Restricted funds may only be used for specific purposes. Restrictions arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for specific purposes.
## **3 Related party transactions**
No trustees received any remuneration or other benefits during the year. Expenses totalling £159.15 were reimbursed to the trustees during the year. Thre were no other related party transactions during the year.
