Yangu is a community-led mental health charity supporting African and Caribbean individuals in Scotland. We foster well-being and unity, with a focus on youth aged 8-18. Our programs offer support and connection. Suso provides a safe space for young black individuals to learn, explore, and build confidence. Suso fosters mental well-being for youth aged 8-18. It's a haven for young black people in Scotland to connect and grow. Tailored sessions focus on confidence-building, emotional management, and creative expression. We also explore areas beyond Glasgow, empowering young minds. We collaborate with NHSGCC to raise mental health awareness. Our Healthy Minds programs prioritize food, community, and resources. We recognize the importance of food within our community and provide authentic African cuisine.

Objectives: 4 The organization’s purposes are: 4.1 The relief of poverty in people within the black community. Especially those new to the country of asylum or refugee status. Baba Yangu foundation aims to do this through the provision of food, clothing and access to employability skills and resources. 4.2 The advancement of education in young adults in relation to emotional literacy, self-esteem and confidence building. 4.3 The advancement of religion in service users – especially parents and caregivers of the young adults benefiting from our services by teaching and preaching scripture and broadening their knowledge of the Christian faith. 4.4 The advancement of health amongst people in the community by providing guidance and advice on lifestyle changes that can be made to improve their physical and mental wellbeing. 4.5 The advancement of health in Scotland amongst children and adults from the African and Afro-Caribbean community by providing mental health awareness support in order to eradicate stigma, isolation and assist in gaining access to treatment options for those that need it.
