The trustees present their report and financial statements for the period ended 30 June 2024.
The actounls h8ve been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies set out in notes 1 to 2 of
the accounts and comply wilh the charity's governing document.

The charity is a Seottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO}. 11 was registere(l in its current
legal form on 8 JanLrary 2020.

Trustee rocruitment and appointment
Open to any person aged 18 or ovei, resident in Orkney and subscrtjing to the purposes of the
organisalion. They musl sign a written application for Trusteeship wh￿h will then be considered by the
Board al its next Board meeting. As slated in Mind-on's constitution, the minimum nurnber of trustees
is five. and the maximum number of Irustees is twelve.

Surnmary of the main activities in relation to thes8 objects
The charity continued lo consolidate rts work in 2023124. The ski118 prov*Yed by board members
included the revision of policies and procedures as well as the design and introductK>n of a new logo
lo emphasise that Mind-on supports mental health in Oikney by raising funds for mental health
through ils shop.
Generous numbers of goods continue lo be donated regularty, both in the shop and also through the
monthly collections directly from staff al Orkney Islands Coun¢il. Mind-on also receives donations
from the IS￿$, sent via the ferr￿S for collection.

Our full-time manager and a part-lime ￿all assislant focused on increasing 58les through themed
events which included "Geek Week" as well as relevant window displays and increased social media
activity.
The Trustees invested significanlty in a cyber lill lo assist with the introduction of Gift Aid, which we
hope will add an ongoing swnificant income stream. with volunteers receiving Iraning support on the
new IT.
Three awards were made to l¢xal groups and orgènisations in support of their mental health projects.
The awards lolalled £19,635 which lakes Mind-on's donations for mental health projects in Orkney rn
just three years lo over £120.000.
Recognition ol Mind-on's woth resulted in donations from several Orkney organisalions. During the
year, generous individuals, Instead of receiving birthday 9fft5, asked guests to make donation5 to
Mind-on, all of whi¢h make a positive difference lo the Charity.
Mind-on was pleased to continue lo partner with other local organisalions. including but not limited lo
the Salvation Army and Restsrt, to extend our woik and reach
Support from volunteers, including board members. all(ywed Mind-on to increase ils income through
sorne Sunday openings, both in the run-up lo Christmas as part of the Kirkwall BID Christmas
promotion and also in the summer lo coincide with larger cruise liners. Local residents welcomed the
opportunity lo drop off donab'ons and make purchases on Sundays.
Mind-on is reliant on the support of the Orkney community through donations, purchases. and
volunteering and is very grateful for the generosity it continues to receive.

No Trustees or volunteers receive any remuneration for their work. Both Trustees and volunteers can
claim expenses. During the perlod Mind-on ISCIOI pald £473 in volunteer expenses.
Donated facilitigs & $orvic88
The Board members givg an enomious amount of their lime, frjr which we are extremely gralefvlly,
both in strategic management and in the day to day running of the oiganisalion and shop. Staff
members volunl88r lime and services beyond their paid hours including, bul not limited lo. receiving
donations al the shop's container, as well as sorting and pricing donated items al home. Volunteers
work in the shop on a rota basis. We are fortunate lo have a dedicated team of volunteers to assist in
the running of the shop and in providing a warm and welcoming environment. We also have a father
and son pickup and delivery team who ¢ollecl items induding the monthly collection from Orkney
Islands Council and also distribute iecycling and discarded clothes items to the Salvation Army.

Mind-on ISCIOI reported a surplus of £9,105 for the perrod ended 30 June 2024.

I report on the accounts of the charity foi the period ended 30 June 2024. which are Set out on pages
5and6.
Raspeetive responslbilitigs of trustoe8 and examlner
The charity's tnjslees arè responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms
of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scollandl Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scollandl
Regulations 2006. The charity Iruslees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1 Ildl of
the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility lo exarnine the accounts a5 required
under Section 44(11(cl of the Act and to stale whether particular mallers hav8 come lo my allenlion.
Basis of independent axamlnerfs sta¢oment
My examinats'on is caryied out in accordan¢e with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scollandl
Regulations 2006. An examination include8 a review of the accounting records kept by the charity anLI
a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. 11 also includes consideration of any
unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the Iruslees concerning
any such matters. The prctedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would required
in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. I
have carried out such investigations as were necessary to enable me lo form an opinion as lo whether
proper aGcounling records adequate for the puiposes of the charty have been kept and whether he
acGounts of the charity were in accor¢Jance with the aCc￿ntIng ￿COrdS.
