## _**Objectives and activities**_

The organisation's charitable purposes are:

- The advance of physical and mental health through the delivery of sporting and social activities, working with adults, young people and children who have a range of physical, learning and communication difficulties.

- The advancement of public participation in sport through the provision of a multi sports coaching programme that is free of charge to participants to enable access regardless of personal circumstances. This enables participants to be successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens.

- The advancement of citizenship/community development through the delivery of volunteer programmes for both young people and adults, ensuring we have strong, resilient and supportive communities where people take responsibility for their own actions and understand how they affect others.

_Summary of main activities in relation to these objectives_

Multi-Sports for all, including walking, netball, basketball, tennis, boccia, and football drills. We cater for all abilities in a safe, inclusive environment.

Experienced coaches provide support to each individual on their journey whether through sport or social events. They also oversee the development of our volunteers, and guide participants on the pathway to becoming a volunteer when they are ready. In addition, we organise a range of social and fundraising events to build a sense of community for all members of the charity.

## _**Achievements and performance**_

## **Independent Examiner’s Report to the Trustees of The Sporting Aces**

I report on the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 March 2025 which are set out on pages 7 to 9.

## **Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Examiner**

The Charity’s Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the Accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. The Charity’s Trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1)(a) to (c) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under Section 44(1)(c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of Independent Examiner’s Report**

My examination was carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

## **Independent Examiner’s statement**

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention:

(1) which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

- to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations; and

- to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 8 of the 2006 Regulations

Have not been met; or

(2) to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
