## **TRUSTEES REPORT TO** 

## **BAINSFORD HALL COMMUNITY GROUP** 

The Trustees present their report and the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2024. 

## **The objectives of the charity are as follows:** 

¢ The provision of recreational facilities, or the organisation of recreational activities, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or activities are primarily intended. 

## **The following activities will be carried out in order to achieve the objectives:** 

> e Establishment of the hall as a going concern, in partnership with tenants. This will create a space for the community to use and meet in, to allow for the continuation of existing community-led groups and initiatives, and the creation and support of new ones. 

Enhance the lives of the community of Bainsford, Langlees and New Carron. 

## **The main achievements of the charity in the year are as follows:** 

> e We have been steadily increasing the number of regular lets. We welcomed in March the charity shop Hidden Treasure, in June the playgroup Mainly Play. The Boys Brigade and Girl Guides now have a door from the hall into their storage cabin. We have had block bookings from Strathcarron Compassionate Communities, Key and Music Therapy. We have had 19 one off lets and hosted 19 parties. 

> e The Community Choices Funding secured of £190K has been spent in insulating outside walls then covering in rough caste or plastic cladding. Creation of a new office and small interview room which can double as a changing room for charity shop. A new ceiling in foyer. 

> e Community Choices Funding of £74.8k has been secured for toilet refurbishment which has been carried out. 

> e A grant of £2k was received from Falkirk Council to pay towards the solicitors fees incurred in signing new lease. 

> e A Capital Grant of £7k was awarded and spent on Storage Container, outdoor tables and basketball hoops. Thanks to Falkirk Council we obtained 100 plastic chairs, TV and many useful items from hall closing.

An Enablèmènt Grant of £77.8K has bèèn awardèd by Falkirk Council to make the premises wind and
water tight and health and safety compliant and will be used to install new roofs and deal with damp
problems as well as have new outside steps. This fund can be accessed when new lease signed.
Bainsford and Langlees Local Resilience Plan have awarded us £13k for purchase and installation of Solar
Batteries, £8.2K already claimed.

Funding has been secured from SPEN of £79.IK to be used for Solar panels, heat pump source 5y5tern for
main hall along with new ceiling and lighting. This fund can be accessed when new lease signed
The hall donated £300 to Christm85 Food Hamper Initiative.
• Administration all the funding awarded would not have been possible without all the hard work put in by
the secretary in filling out very detailed and extensive application forms.
• Thè smooth running of thè prèmises would not have beèn possible without all the volunteered manual
hours by the trustees. committee Members and friends of the hall. Two new members joined the
committee and their contribution has been much appreciated. The committee met weekly for many
months and our AGM took place on 26th September 2024.

We reporton the accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024 set out on pages 4 to 6.
Respective Responsibilities of Trustees and Independent Examiner
The ch8 rity s trustees are responsible for the proparation of the accounts in accordanco with the terms of
the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotlandl Act 20051.the 2￿5 Act") and the Charities Accounts
(Scotlandl Regulation5 2006 la5 amended) I'the 21￿6 RLbiil.Il 10115 '). The cliarity's tru5tee5 consider that
the audit requirement of Regulation Iollllal to Icl of the 2006 Regulations does not apply. It is my
responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 144lllllcl of the 2005 Act and to state
whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basls of IndÈpendent Examlnèr's Statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Regulations. An examination
includes a rèview of the accounting records kept by thè charity and a comparison of the accounts
prèsèntèd with thosè records. It also includès consideration of any unusual itèms or distlosurès in thé
accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures
undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and, consequently, I do not
express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent Examiner'5 Statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention=_
11 which gives me reasonable cause to believe that, in any material respect, the requirements:_

to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Rogulation 9 of the 2006
