Objectives and activities
1[st] Rousay Guides was setup to allow girls who have taken part in Rainbows and Brownies to continue on their guiding journey. We follow the Girlguiding program and encourage the girls to have time as a small group but also to be with the other sections that run at the same time.
Our aim is to inspire and encourage girls to be empowered to make good decisions and to grow in to capable and engaging young ladies within society.
4
Structure, governance and management
Type of governing document
The unit will deliver a good guiding program in accordance with the Guiding Manual, and any amendments thereto issued from time to time. The program gives girls the space where they can be themselves, build friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference in their lives and community.
Trustee recruitment and appointment
The trustees have not changed since initial appointment, all of whom are part of the Girlguiding organisation.
5
Achievements and performance
This year we have had one member achieve their Gold award. All members have taken part in activities that work towards achievements within girlguiding.
This year we have seen the following from the girls:
-
Wearing their uniforms for world thinking day
-
Attending remembrance services with uniform
-
Took part in Bag the Bruck – a local beach clean
