**Objectives:** The organisation's purposes are to advance personal health education by: 4.1 promoting greater understanding about health-related  decision-making to the general public, as well as to clinicians and others in medically-related professions. 4.2 encouraging and informing understanding by members of the public about medical decision-making, in particular for those or those with a family member who are facing critical or life-limiting illness).  4.3 holding public meetings, and making presentations to community and other groups to raise awareness of, and provide information  about,  individual rights in relation to medical decision-making and associated subjects 4.4 making presentations to health professionals and specialised medical groups about medical decision-making. and 4.5 publishing and distributing educational materials, and using other media to facilitate a wider understanding about priorities and perspectives in medical decision-making by the general public as well as by clinicians and hospital staff.
