TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT
Information about the Charity’s Activities and Achievements
Kingholm Quay Harbour Group was incorporated as a SCIO on 18[th] October 2019.
We provide berthing and maintain a small harbour in Kingholm Quay just outside the town of Dumfries.
We have a charity collection box at ‘The Swan restaurant ’ Kingholm Quay which has not yet been collected, the funds will hopefully be included in the fifth year of accounts, it is under new management and we will hopefully be able to collect the collection box once full. As this collection box is behind the bar and has been for a length of time and it has been left until its full.
The Harbour Group has not really been very active, so not much has really been happening, some raised monies have been spent during these times on the maintenance within the harbour. We have a petrol fire pump to which we use to maintain mud and silt levels within the harbour. We also maintain our slipway once a month in order to keep it clear and usable for our emergency services and Nith inshore lifeboat.
Basic maintenance and running costs are very minimal as there is not a great deal of usage but we have now replaced the ageing bridge on to our pontoons.
We have had no arranged meetings for a while as we are all in contact on a weekly basis anyway. Hopefully our harbour can begin to be a busy place again but with current financial conditions this can only be a hope for the future.
We are looking forward to a time when we can hold a group meeting so that we can continue our plans for the future.
Our plans at the moment are to stay active as a charity for the purpose of holding donations until the time is right to further our harbour into the future.
