**What the charity does:** The organisation’s purposes are to support those finding the experience of using Edinburgh Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Courts difficult, stressful or confusing by using knowledge of the court layout and procedures to guide, direct and signpost users appropriately, listening to users and allowing them to express their feelings without judgement and treating all users with dignity and respect. The charity recruits, trains and organises about 35 volunteers so that there are three listening volunteers available whenever the court is sitting.

**Objectives:** To provide relief to Court users using the Edinburgh Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Courts (the ?users?) by: Supporting those finding the experience of using the Edinburgh Sheriff and Justice of the Peace Courts (the ?users?) difficult and confusing by having a knowledge of the court processes and guiding, directing and signposting users appropriately. Relieving Court users? stress and anxiety by listening to them allowing them to express their feelings without judgement. Giving support to those Court users disadvantaged by circumstances by treating all users with dignity and respect.
