Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of | This year has been productive and rewarding for the Shed, with strong the charity during the financial period progress in activities, membership, and premises development. We began the year with our AGM and community engagement events, including talks to and from local groups. Highlights included a successful MOT4Men event, our Birthday BBQ, safety talks from Police Scotland and Trading Standards, and cooking confidence sessions supported by Wholehearted Fraserburgh. Seasonal events such as our coffee morning, Christmas dinner, and raffle were very well attended, thanks to generous support from members and local businesses. The New Year brought further variety, including Chinese New Year celebrations, Brew Monday at NESCOL with a focus on suicide prevention, and the return of Singing Shedders. We also refreshed our membership process, confirming 64 regular members, and continued outreach through community events and visits from local representatives including local dignitaries, Councillors and MP's Premises development was a major focus. Building warrants were approved, work began on the new workshop, ceiling alterations started, and generous donations of insulation and plasterboard helped progress the fit-out. The driveway was also successfully resurfaced through members’ efforts and donations of materials. Throughout the year we enjoyed a wide range of activities, including fused glass workshops, attending local art exhibition, community events, and family-friendly gatherings. The Shed continues to thrive due to the dedication of members, volunteers, funders, and partners, and we look forward to the year ahead with confidence. Brief statement of the charity’s policy | We keep enough money on account to cover running costs for 12 months on reserves (around £5k). ~ ee ne Details of any deficit None Donated facilities and services (if any) | Gas costs are covered by a member donation directly to the supplier. |
