Objectives and Activities
Trust purpose
To provide grants to UK based Social Enterprises and UK based Individuals within the geographical areas in which the Servus Group operates, where the founding documents of those Social Enterprises requires all profit from their activities to be used for public good and not distributed amongst shareholders or members, and where those Social Enterprises either provide support and activities which benefit the elderly or to people or groups who are disadvantaged physically, by learning difficulty or have serious health condition(s) which limit their ability to participate in and enjoy the environment in which they live and work.
Activities
The trust provides grants in the form of goods purchased or money to Individuals or Social Enterprises who apply for funding. Our activities in the previous 12 months have seen donations to local independent foodbanks who have benefited greatly from the support provided by the Foundation.
Financial Review
Our main source of funding is via members raising funds during various activities and donations from the Servus Group. The Servus Group donated £6000 in this year. The Servus Group meet all operating expenses which arise, so the expenditure of £1,285.81 shown in the accounts is the physical cost of the charitable donations made by the Foundation.
Plans for future period
The members will continue to raise funds for use by the Trust, and these will be distributed to worthy applicants who meet the various requirements outlined in the trust purpose.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES
OF THE MURPHY YOUNG FOUNDATION
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 30 June 2025 which are set out on pages 5 to 7.
This report is made to the Trustees, as a body, in accordance with the terms of my engagement. My work has been undertaken to enable me to prepare the accounts on behalf of the Trustees and report my opinion as set out below and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, I do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than the Charity and the Trustees, as a body, for my work or for this report.
Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Independent Examiner
The charity’s Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 (the Act) and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (the Regulations). The charity’s Trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1)(d) of the Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1)(c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner’s statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeks explanations from the Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent Examiner’s statement
In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention:
-
which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:
-
to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1)(a) of the Act and Regulation 4 of the Regulations, and;
-
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the Regulations
have not been met; or
- to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

You will have the ability to download and print documents we send to you through the DocuSign system during and immediately after the signing session and, if you elect to create a DocuSign account, you may access the documents for a limited period of time (usually 30 days) after such documents are first sent to you. If you elect to receive required notices and disclosures only in paper format, it will slow the speed at which we can complete certain steps in transactions with you and delivering services to you because we will need first to send the required notices or disclosures to you in paper format, and then wait until we receive back from you your acknowledgment of your receipt of such paper notices or disclosures. Further, you will no longer be able to use the DocuSign system to receive required notices and consents electronically from us or to sign electronically documents from us.
All notices and disclosures will be sent to you electronically
Unless you tell us otherwise in accordance with the procedures described herein, we will provide electronically to you through the DocuSign system all required notices, disclosures, authorizations, acknowledgements, and other documents that are required to be provided or made available to you during the course of our relationship with you. To reduce the chance of you inadvertently not receiving any notice or disclosure, we prefer to provide all of the required notices and disclosures to you by the same method and to the same address that you have given us. Thus, you can receive all the disclosures and notices electronically or in paper format through the paper mail delivery system. If you do not agree with this process, please let us know as described below.
