Activities

'It carries out activities or services itself'

'the advancement of health','the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage'

Our mission is to improve pregnancy, birth and parenting outcomes and experiences for those most impacted by systemic inequities. We work with families who are seeking asylum and those with insecure immigration status, as well as other underserved groups who face barriers to accessing maternity care and associated support. Our strategic aims are: 1. To support self-agency during pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. 2. To improve wellbeing and build community for new parents and their children. 3. To influence and address maternal health disparities at a local and national level.

Objectives: The organisation's purposes are: The advancement of health in Scotland for women who experience health inequalities by providing trained, nurturing birth companions who offer practical and emotional support, advocacy and information around birth. Through this we aim to reduce fear, overcome barriers, improve birthing outcomes and ensure women's voices are heard. The relief of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage in Scotland for women who are isolated and facing adversity on their journey to motherhood and their children by providing post-natal support and group activities, creating opportunities for friendships and integration and giving babies a better start.
