The trustees have pleasure in submitting their annual report and financial statements for the period 1[st] July 2024 to 30[th] June 2025.
The information set out on page 3 forms part of this report. The financial statements comply with current statutory requirements and the constitution of Tayside Dynamos Powerchair Football Club.
Constitution
Tayside Dynamos Powerchair Football Club was incorporated on 26 April 2019 and registered with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator as a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) under charity number SC049255 on that date. The funds held by the previous unincorporated association, also called Tayside Dynamos Powerchair Football Club, were transferred to the SCIO upon registration. Particulars of the trustees and professional advisors along with relevant addresses are shown on page 3.
Appointed Trustees and Organisational management
The maximum number of charity trustees is five. The structure of the organisation consists of the members, who have powers to appoint those who will serve on the board and take decisions on changes to the constitution itself and the board, who generally control the activities of the organisation. The people serving on the board are referred to as Charity Trustees. The Trustees at the date of this report are shown on page 3.
Aims, Objectives and Activities
The organisation’s purposes the advancement of public participation in sport, namely Powerchair football. Primarily by:

Offering coaching and competitive opportunities in Powerchair football.

Increasing participation in the sport of Powerchair football.

Developing volunteers.
-
Promoting the Club within the local community.

Promoting the sport of Powerchair football across Scotland
-
Ensuring a duty of care to all members of the club.

Providing all its services in a way that is fair to everyone.

Ensuring that all present and future members receive fair and equal treatment.

Delivering Our Charitable Objectives
As a registered charity, our core aim as stated in our Constitution is to advance public participation in sport, promote equality and inclusion, and improve the health and wellbeing of individuals living with physical disabilities through powerchair football.
I’m proud to report that we have made strong progress in meeting these objectives across the year:

Inclusive Participation: We’ve welcomed several new young players into the club, ensuring they are supported with appropriate coaching, equipment access, and peer support. This reflects our commitment to providing inclusive sporting opportunities regardless of age, experience, or ability.

Promoting Wellbeing : Weekly training sessions, regular league fixtures, and community engagement activities have offered our members not only the physical benefits of sport, but also vital social connection, purpose, and mental wellbeing – which is especially important for individuals living with long-term physical conditions.

Empowerment and Achievement: By competing at both national and international levels, we’ve given our players the platform to showcase their skills and feel a sense of pride in their accomplishments. Whether it’s winning trophies or simply progressing in confidence and ability, every member has had the opportunity to grow and achieve.

Raising Awareness and Representation : Through high-profile successes and local media engagement, we’ve helped raise awareness of powerchair football and the challenges faced by people with physical disabilities, promoting understanding, representation, and equality in sport.
Season Highlights
This year has seen a number of standout moments on and off the pitch:

In August 2024, Dundee United Dynamos travelled to Northern Ireland to take part in the Marc Biggar Memorial Cup. This was a fantastic opportunity for international competition and represented the club with pride and professionalism.

In September 2024, Tayside Dynamos lifted the League Cup in Dundee – a fantastic achievement and testimony to the talent and determination within the squad.

At the Active Dundee Awards in May 2025, we celebrated not just individual success but recognition of the club's impact:

received the Jenny Wood Allen Award, recognising courage, dedication and sporting excellence.

was named Volunteer Coach of the Year, acknowledging his outstanding service and leadership.
-
Our competitive season concluded in June 2025 with Dundee United Dynamos finishing as runners-up in the Scottish Championship League, and winning the Scottish League Cup Plate – a brilliant way to end the year on a high.
Club Growth and Looking Ahead
The club continues to grow not only in numbers but in strength, unity, and reputation. We are committed to supporting our existing members while also reaching out to new players and families, especially those facing challenges around access, mobility, or isolation.
We recognise that there are ongoing barriers – logistical, financial, and practical – that our members may face. Our goal going forward is to further develop the support structure around each player, whether through adaptive equipment, transport support, coaching development or partnerships with local health and disability organisations.

Personal Note
As many of you know, I will be stepping down from my role as Chairperson following this AGM. It has been a privilege to serve in this role and to be part of a club that continues to inspire me every day. I’m not going far – I will continue to serve as a Trustee, supporting the club’s direction and long-term sustainability.

Treasurer’s Report Summary for 2024-25
Overview:
The financial year from July 2024 to June 2025 has seen a total income of £11,548.36 against total expenditures of £25,672.47 , resulting in a deficit of £14,124.11 . This has primarily been driven by higher-than-normal outgoings in venue hire and equipment, alongside a significant transfer to the savings account.

Total income this year was £11,548.36 , from the following key sources:

While income has remained reasonably steady, the majority came from Just Giving and DUCTrelated contributions. Sponsorship and donation levels could be a focus for future development.

The most significant cost remains venue hire, which accounted for nearly a third of all expenditure. The transfer of £10,000 into the savings account was a planned strategic decision, though it has contributed to the year-end deficit on the current account.

Report of the Independent Examiner to the Trustees of Tayside Dynamos Powerchair Football Club
| report on the financial statements of the charity for the period ended 30 June 2024, which are set out on pages 9 to 12.
Respective responsibilities of the Trustees and Examiner
The Charities trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial statements in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) 2005 Act and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006.
The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the financial statements as required under section 44(1)(c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner’s Statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Charities Accounts Regulations 2006. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the financial statements presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the financial statements and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently, | do not express an audit opinion on the financial statements.
independent Examiners Statement
In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention: 1. Which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

e To keep accounting records in accordance with section 44(1)(a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Regulations, and
-
e To prepare financial statements which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Regulations have not been met, or
-
To which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the financial statements to be reached.
