SAPC is a non-profit organisation based in Glasgow South with its main aim to advance public participation in sport. In furtherance of this charitable purpose, SAPC promotes the benefit of sport in terms of improved health and wellbeing and raise awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, with the intention of reducing instances of inactivity, obesity, alcohol, drug and solvent abuse; we will also promote social integration through sport and personal development opportunities, promoting a culture of unity- SAPC strapline is 'Supporting Community Diversity and Improving Lives through Sporf with a membership of over 240 young people and over 35 volunteers, fully representative of the area we operate. The total expenditure associated with delivering in 2024/25 was £15,584, but SAPC were able to secure two grants totaling £3,411 for 2024/25, from the following funders- GCC Culture and Sport £2,911 and the Scottish Football Association £500, ensuring activities and services are free where possible. We were able to Fundraise £7,006 and received Donations of £5,833 giving us a total income of £16,250 for the financial year 2024125, we therefore had a surplus of £845 for the year, but as we carried forward a balance of £4,196 from the previous financial year, our cash st in hand at bank on 31 March 2025 was £4,007. We had fixed assets worth £4,714 in the previou5 financial year, but as we have had the assets over another year, they depreciated a further 25%, meaning our fixed assets are now worth £3,535, this means the net worth of SAPC Community Sports Hub SCIO as of the I" of April 2025 was £7,541. Aims & Ob'ectives of SAPC Communi S orts Hub SCIO or the Im act of Covid During the financial year 2024/2025 the impact of Glasgow City Council financial pressures continues with local facilities being either unavailable or too costly to hire especially on a weekend. We gained access to secondary schools and local community outdoor space and a local community centre. We continued to deliver activities outdoors where possible and some Youth Scotland award delivery. We maintained our delivery of outdoor Free Friday Football Fives programme to 10-14 years and 15-19-year-olds, many of our netball participants were successful in being selected for local, regional, and national squads. Our netball teams once again attended the English National Netball facility as part of a team building exercise that has helped maintain and grow our netball offering with participants becoming young netball volunteer leaders. Our G53 Badminton team continued to take in some events with emphasis on growing our young volunteer capacity. We continue to support local primary schoo15 With delivering their health week. We further developed our mixed gender sport of Korfball utilising outdoor space. We were able to maintain our cricket sessions for local primary aged children. We resurrected Basketball for those aged 12 years+. We delivered the Darnley CommonHealth Games on the grounds of local primary schools for over 800 children and families. We have been unable at this point to resurrect our previous sport offerings of Cycling and Table Tennis. This has been because of difficulty to recruit and retain volunteers and the availability of appropriate premises and funding. Statement of Responsibilities of Members The committee members are responsible for the preparation of the accounts for each financial yearwhich gives a true and fair review of the situation at the end of the year and of its results for that period. In preparing those accounts the members are required to: Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. Make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent State whether applicable accounting standards have been followed Prepare the accounts on the going concern basis unless it is inappropriate to assume that the scheme will continue The comtnittee metnbers are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accurary at any lime the financial position of the project and which will enable them to cornply with accounting procedures of The Law Reforrn (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1990 and The Charities Accounts (Scotland) regulations 1992. As a Scottish charity they must also comply with the applicable terms and provisions of the Charities & Trustee Investment {Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006. They are responsible for s3feguarding the assets of the organisation and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud or other irregularities.
