## 1. TRUSTEES’ ANNUAL REPORT
## Structure, Governance and Management
Scottish Dobermann Rescue operates as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO). The trustees are responsible for governance, financial oversight, and ensuring the charity adheres ta its purposes.

## Charitable Purposes and Activities
Scottish Dobermann Rescue continued its core work of rescuing, assessing, fostering, and rehoming Dobermanns across Scotland. The charity supported dogs with behavioural and medical needs, and maintained rescue-back-up for all previously rehomed dogs.
Support was provided to owners in crisis situations, including guidance, temporary care where possible, and assistance with responsible rehoming.
Fundraising, including online appeals and merchandise sales, helped to cover veterinary costs, food, equipment, and transport. Public education about Dobermann behaviour and responsible ownership remained an important part of SDR's work.

- Several dogs were successfully rehomed.
- Behavioural advice and rescue-back-up were provided throughout the year.

- Numerous owners were supported during crisis situations.
- Fundraising efforts mitigated high veterinary and operational costs.
## Challenges
The charity continued to face a shortage of available foster homes, particularly for dogs with more complex needs. Rising surrender requests and high veterinary fees placed additional pressure on limited resources.

## 4. NOTES TO THE ACCOUNTS
## 1. Nature and Purpose of Funds
The charity operates using unrestricted funds. All income is applied to activities supporting the rescue, care, and rehoming of Dobermanns.
## 2. Trustee Remuneration and Expenses
No trustee received remuneration during the year.
During the year, the trustees identified financial irregularities and unauthorised withdrawals made by a former trustee in a previous financial period. These matters do not affect the figures reported in the accounts for the year ended 30 April 2025.
The former trustee has been removed, and the trustees are reviewing the historic transactions with a view to formal reporting to the appropriate authorities.
No other trustee received reimbursement except where costs were incurred directly for the charity (e.g. transport, equipment).

Other than the matter noted above, no related party transactions occurred during the year.
