The trustees. who are directors for the purposes of company law present their annual report and financial
statements for the year ended 28 February 2026.
The financial slatemenls have been prepared in accordance with the accounting policies sel out in note 1 to the
financial slalemenls and comply with the charity's governing documents, the Charities and Trustee 1nveslment
(Scotlandl Act 2005, the Charities Accounts (Scollandl Regulations 2006 las amendedl and "Accounting and
Reporting by Charities.. Slalemenl of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in
accordan¢e with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS
1021" leffeclive 1 January 20191.
Ob5ectlves and activities
The purposes of the charity are..
al lo promote. encourage and develop an interest in sport for all.,
bl lo promote the benefit and advantages ol partiapalion in sport.,
cl to provide facilities in the interest of social welfare for recreation and leisure time activities with the aim of
improving the quality of life for those involved.,
dl lo promote sport amongst young people. provide facilities for the coaching and heaKh education of young people
and encourage partiopalion in sport by said young people.,
el to arrange matches with other organisations to encourage team spirit and social interaction.
Slgniflcant activities
Along with the basic provision of a fully equipped gym, tennis, squash, and badminton Courts the club provides an
extensive class program including pre school fitness, stretch and relax, circuits, boxercise and Zumba.
Coaching is also provided for juniors, youths and adults in tennis, squash, badminton and football.
Achlevements and perfomiance
Significanl aclivitftes and achievemenls against objectives
It has been another productive year al Nairn Sports Club.
There has been many discussions about the car park over the years. There has been areas patched ar
rnaintained. however, a decision was made lo re-lar the surface and painl new lines at a cost of £24k. This took
place in Aprill May 2025 and has made a tremendous difference.
For many years now there has been an issue with water entering the reception. 11 was originally believed it was
coming from the palio doors, however, after investlgation there has been an issue with the pitch on the roof. Work
will now be carried out lo remove part of the roof and repla￿ with sheets. The company will also repair and replace
the guttering around parts of the building and will repair areas on the sports hall roof. Work commenced in February
2026 and should be complete by March 2026. Total costs for the works will be £30k.
In August we had work carried out on 2 squash courts. The walls were repainted and the floors sanded and lines
painted. The total cost was £5.800. Along with squash, our courts are used lor many a¢tivilies. classes, tsble tennis,
martial art training, boxing, fitness sessions etc.
65 700/0 of our club usage is wrthin the gym, therefore we continue lo improve the equipment ￿ offer. We
conducted a gym survey specific lo establish what the members are looking for and purchased 3 new pEces of
equipment and replaced all the weight plates. We now have bright coloured weight plates which makes a massive
differen￿ lo the look of the gym. The trustees have agreed a budget to continue year on year lo improve the gym
fac51ilies.
We continue to review our classes and activity timetable and made some investment in class equipment in February
2026 The class numbers continue to grow and our instructors do amazing work lo keep everything fresh. 3 female
classes were introduced in July and have been booked out weekly.

Pickleball numbers have increased dramatically. with all of our drop-in sessions booked out and many members
now booking the hall lo play with friends. This is currently played in the Sports hall. however, lines have been
painted on out MUGA, which allows ould¢X•r play in the better weather.
We pride ourselves in the diversity of classes and activities we offer for all ages and abilities. We will continue to
seek ways to improve the club for all our members and the ￿MmUnitY of Nairn.

The trustees, who are also the directors of Nairn Sports Club SCIO for the purpose of company law, are responsible
for preparing the Trustees. Report and the financial slaternenls in accordance with applicable law and United
Kingdom Accounting Standards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Praclicel.
Company law requires the Iruslees lo prepare financial slalements for each financial year which give a true and faif
view of the slate of affairs of the charity and of the incoming resources and applicab.on of resourees, including the
income and expenditure, of the charitablè company for that year.

1.1 Basis of preparallon
The finaneial statements have been prepared in accordance with the charity's goveming d¢xument. the
Companies Act 2006, FRS 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic ol
Iieland" and the Charities SORP 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities". Slalement of Recornmended
Practice applicable lo charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021" The charity is a Public Benefil Entity as defined by
FRS 102.
The charity has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP lor charities not to Prepare a slalanenl of
cash flows.
The financial slalemenls are prepared in sterling. which is the functional currency of the charity. Monetary
amounts in these financial statements are founded lo the nearest £.
Nairn Sports Club SCIO meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are
initially recognised al historical cost or Iransadion value unless otherwise slated in the relevant accounting
policy notes.
1.2 Golng concern
Al the lime of approving the financial slalements, the trustees have a Teasonable expectation that the charty
has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the IrLBtees
continue to adopt the going Concem basis of accounting in preparing the finan¢ial statements.
1.3 Charitable funds
Unreslricled income funds are general funds that are available for use at the trustee's dI￿re￿On in furtherance
of the objeclives ol the charity.
Restricted funds Can only be used for the particular purposes within the objects of the charity. Restrictions
arise when speafied by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.
Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the financial
stslemenls.
1.4 Incom8
Income Is recognised when the charity is legally enlilled to il after any performance conditions have been mel,
the amounts Can be measured reliably. and il is probable that income will be received.
Grants recelvable
Grants are recognised when the charity has an enlillemenl lo the funds and any conditions linked to the
grants have been mel. INhen performance conditions are attached lo the grant and are yel to be mel, the
income is recogni5ed as a liability and included on the balance sheet as deferred income lo be released.

1.5 Expendlture
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obli9alion lo that expenditure, il is probable
that a transfer of economic benefits ¥MII be required in settlement, and the amount of the obligation can be
measured reliably. All costs are allocaled lo the applicable expenditure heading Ihal aggregate similar costs to
that category. Vvhere costs cannot be directly attributed lo the particular headings they have been allocated on
a basis consistent with the use of resour￿$. with central staff costs allocated on the basis of lime spent. and
depreciation charges allocated on the ports'on of the asset's use. Other support costs are allocated based on
the spread of staff costs.
These are eosls incurred in attracting voluntary income, the management of investments and those incurred in
trading activities that raise funds.
Charitable expenditure compromises those costs incurred by the eharity in the delivery of ils activities and
services for ils beneficiaries. 11 incluLles both costs that can be allocated diTectly to such activrties and those
costs of an indirect nature necessary to support them.
These indude the costs attributable lo the charity's compliance wth constitutional and statutory ￿qUIrements,
including audit, strategic management and trustees, meetings and reimbursed expenses

1.6 Tangible flxed assets
Tangible fixed assets are initi'ally measured at cost and subsequently measured at cost OT valuation, net of
depreciation and any impairment losses.

The gain or loss arising on the disposal of an asset is determined as the difference betrMeen the Sale proceeds

1.7 Impairment of fixed assets
At each reporting end date, the charity reviews the carrying amounts of its tangible assets lo deterynine
whether there is any indication that those assets have suffered an impairment loss. 11 any such indication

1.8 Stocks
Stocks are slated al the lower of cost and estimated selling price less costs to complete and sell, after due
regard lor obsolete and slow moving stocks. Cost is delertnined using first-in, first-oul IFIFOI.
1.9 Cash and cash equlvalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand. deposits held at call with banks, other short-lerm liquid
investments wlh original malurilies of three months OT less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are shown
within borrowings in current liabilities.

1.10 Financial Instruments
The charity has elected lo apply the provisions of Section 11 'Basic Finanaal Instruments, and Section 12
'Olher Financial Instruments Issues, of FRS 102 10 all of ils financial instruments.
Financial instruments are recognised in the charity's balance sheet when the charity beeomes paty to the
contractual provisions of the instrument.
Financial assets and liabilities are offset, wrth the nel amounts presented In the financial statements. when
there is a legally enforceable right lo sel off the recognised amounts and there is an intention to settle on a nel
basis or to reali5e the assel and settle the liability simultsneously.
Basic financial assets
Basic financial assets, which include debtors and cash 8nd bank balances, are initially rneasured at
transaction price including transaction costs and are subsequently carried al amortised cost using the effective
interest method unless the arrangement conslitules a financing Iransaclion, where the transaction is
measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted al a market rate of interest. Finanaal assets
classified as receivable within one year are not amort15ed.
Baslc financial liabilities
Basic financial liabilities, including creditors and bank loans are initially recognised al transaction price unless
the arrangement constitutes a financing Iransath'on, where the debt instrument is measured at the present
value of the future payments discounted 818 market rale of interest. Financial liabilities classified as payable
within one year are not amortised.
Debt instruments are subsequently carried al amortised cost, Lssing the effective interest rate method.
Trade creditors are obligations to pay for goods or services that have been acquired in the ordinary course ol
operations from suppliers. Amounts payable are classified as current liabilities rf payment is due within one
year or less. If not, they are presented as non-current liabilities Trade creditors are recognised initially al
transaction price and subsequently measured at amorb'sed cost using the effective interest method.
Derecognltion of financial liabilities
Financial liabilities are derecognised when the charty's contractual obligations expire or are discharged or
cancelled.
1.11 Taxalion
The charity is considered lo pass the lesls set out in paragraph 1 Schedule 6 of the Finance Act 2010 and
therefore il meets the definition of a chariiable company for UK corporation lax purposes. Accordingly, the
charity is potentially exernpl from taxation in respect of income or capital gains received within categories
covered by Chapter 3 Part 11 of the Corporation Tax Act 2010 or Section 256 of the Taxation of Chargeable
GainsAct 1992, to the extent that such income Of gains are applied exclusively to charitable purposes.
1.12 Employee beneflts
The cost of any unused holiday enlillement is recognised in the period in which the employee's services are
received.
Termination benefits are recognised immediately as an expense when the charity is demonstrably committed
to lerminate the employment of an employee or to provide lerminalion benefits.

1.13 Retlrement bgneflts
The charity operates a defined contribution pension scheme which is a pension plan under which fixed
contributions are paid into a pension fund and the charity has no legal or conslruclive obligation lo pay further
contributions even if the fLJnd does not hold sufficient assets to pay all employees the benefits relating lo
employee service in the current and prior periods.
Payments lo defined contribution retirement benefit schemes a￿ recognised in the Slalemenl of Financial
Activities when they are due. If contribution payments exceed the contribution due for service, the excess is
recognised as a prepayment.
1.14 Borrowings
Inlerest-bearing borrowings are initially recorded al fair value, nel of transaction costs. Inleresl-bearing
borrowings are subsequently carried at amortised cost. with the difference between the proceeds, nel of
tiansaction costs, and the amount due on redempts'on being recognised as a charge to the Statement of
Financial Activities over the period of the relevant borrowing.
Interest expense is recognised on the basis of the effective interest method and is induded in interest payable
and similar charges
8orrowings are classified as current liabilities unless the charty has an uneondilional right to defer settlement
of the liability for at least ￿e1ve months after the reporting dale.
Critical accounting e$tlmates and judgements
In the application of the ch8rily's accounting policies, the Iruslees are required to make judgements, eslimales
and assumptions about the carrying amount of as5els and liabilities that are not readily apparent from other
sources. The estimates and associated assumptions are based on historical experience and other laclors that
are considered to be relevant. Actual results may differ from these estimates.
The eslimales and underlying assumptions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Revisions lo accounting
estimates are recognised in the period in which the estimate is revised where the revision affects cnly that
period, or in the peiiod of the revision and future periods where the revision affects both current and future
periods.
