**What the charity does:** Victoria Park Community Trust (VPCT) is an umbrella organisation made up of Member Groups which have a vested interest in the park including The five local Community Councils, Friends of Victoria Park , The Fossil Grove Trust, Glasgow Eco Trust, The Butterfly Conservation Trust, Sunny Cycles and 2 Parkruns. It is tasked with coordinating and developing the aspirations for the park raised by the member groups and the local community. The Trust has signed a Participation Agreement with GCC to collaborate with them on the development and maintenance of the park.  VPCT has developed an Action Plan setting out a vision of what might be achieved over the coming years to introduce new uses into those areas of the park which have fallen into disrepair (former blaes pitches, bowling greens and putting greens) as well as new ideas to meet the demands of the twenty-first century visitor.

**Objectives:** The SCIO will operate as a charitable organisation and its purposes are:   2.1 To advance community development and regeneration by:  2.1.1 Undertaking community consultation, communication and by encouraging the community to propose suggestions for park projects and improvements. 2.1.2 Providing, maintaining and managing facilities which can be used for recreational, heritage and cultural pursuits in order to improve the wellbeing of the community surrounding Victoria Park and visitors to the area and to assist the advancement of community development. 2.1.3 Engaging and involving the local community in environmental issues and action, through information exchange and practical activities.  2.2 To advance and protect heritage by promoting the history of the park along with the history and heritage of the local area and community and to advance the education of the public.  2.3 The provision of recreational and leisure activities through promoting and improving the park&#x27;s facilities, thereby encouraging increased use, leading to the improvement and development of community spirit.  2.4 To promote and encourage the environmental protection, improvement and conservation of Victoria Park and to help conserve, enhance and improve the landscape, biodiversity and sustainable use of the area for the benefit of people and wildlife through liaison with the local authority and groups. Secure funding to enable the implementation of identified improvement projects.
