Structure, governance and management

The Charity is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation ISCIO}. It
has a single tier structure and as such the Trustees are the members of
the charity.
Trustee re¢rultment and appolntmont Any person who wishes to become a Charity Trustee must submit a
written application to the existing Trustees, whith would then be
considered at their next meettng. The Trustees would then notfy any
applicant promplly by a face-to-face meeting with Iwo existing trustee$ of
the decision on whether or not to admit himlher to Chartty Trusteeship in
line with the values of the organisation and confimi this in writing or by e-
mail.
Objectives and activities

The charity exists for the purposes of providing support to Veterans
{those who have served in the Amied Forces ofthe UK and our allies)
and their families.
This is principally achieved by the advancement of citizenship or
community development, and the relief of those in need by ￿asOn of
age. ill-health. disability. financial hardship or other disadvantage.

provide infomiation and advice to those veter8ns who require rt and to

Achievements and performance
Surnmary of the main a¢ht8vomonts
of tho charity during the finandal
period
Throughout the year, the charity has continued to operate its existing
Communty Hub IVC Hub) in Craigneuk from Mondays to Thursdays
each week and the weekly drop in café IVC at the KCI at the Kings
Church in MotheThvell on Frkjays. The aim of the charity is to provide
safe. sctial Spa￿ where veterans can interact vthh others and also get
help arKI assistance with any issues that they may be faang. delNered in |
conjunction wtth a variety of partners who provide specialist servi￿.
During the FenThJ, we have also continued to provide activities for
veterans made more effective due to our minibus and a part-time
minibus driver fiJThJed by part of the National Lottery granL and all ofour I
services and adivÉties are provKled free of charge.
During the yearv•E identifigj an OPFK)rtunty to seNe Veterans further as ,,
we often encxyjnter veterans in need, and at other times are offered
h(xJsehold items which a￿ available to be passed on. As we have
exceptionally limited storage space, we have seldom been able to
a￿pt offers of availabie items but we were SUC￿$S1u1 with 8 funding
applicathm to the Officers Ass￿ation S(xJlland for a grant towards the
hire of storage and staff member in order to develop a WC Reuse" pilot
project. This ￿me in the form of one yearfs funding and 81though the
implementalion of this idea was later than hOF￿ due to delays in finding
a suitable staff ￿Ember aTrJ l¢xalion. this is now progressing well with a
Part-rime manager who is responsible for the collection of donated
items which are stored then gNen OLrt to veterdns in need. However, as
at the end of this finarKial ￿¥r￿1 the grant of £20.000 had been received
but as yet there had tjeen rL) expenditure.

arrK)unt Of'unrestride￿ donations beginning to flow into the charity from
the families of gratefijl veterans and other supportive local organisations.
