The Friends of Easter Craiglockhart Hill Charity was set up to work in partnership with the Natural Heritage Service of the City of Edinburgh Council. Our aim is to encourage the local community and others from further afield to visit Easter Craiglockhart Hill, learn about the natural world and enjoy spending time outdoors. We try to get the balance right between encouraging people to enjoy themselves on the hill and protecting the environment. We publish regular newsletters, host events and offer guided walks and environmental classes. We also manage regular volunteering for people to help with the maintenance and planting on Easter Craiglockhart Hill.

Objectives: 4 The organisation's purposes are: 4.1. (a) Advancing environmental protection and improvement by preserving and protecting Easter Craiglockhart Hill Local Nature Reserve for the enjoyment of members of the public and by conserving and enhancing wildlife and biodiversity (b) Advancing education by providing learning and educational materials and by organising educational events and activities. (c) Promoting equality and diversity through specific initiatives to encourage people with additional needs to make greater use of the Local Nature Reserve (d) Advancing community development by providing and maintaining community and play space and by organising community events and activities.
