**What the charity does:** The principal objects of the charity are to benefit the community in the District of Back in the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, and any members from outwith this area with an interest in the history and culture of the area.  The charity aim is to advance education through events, publications and social activity, build on community development by participation benefiting the wider society within the district, further advancement of arts, heritage and culture by maintaining knowledge of the aforementioned community promoting community identity, and promoting equality and diversity, inviting the whole community to learn about the history.
