Objectives: 1.1 The Objects of Penny Appeal ('the Charity') are:- (1) to prevent and/or relieve poverty by providing humanitarian assistance and other means. to advance and promote education by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education and to advance health by the provision of financial or other assistance, including medicines, hospitals and other means, in each case for the public benefit anywhere in the world. (2) the relief of financial need and suffering among victims of natural or other kinds of disaster in the form of money or other means deemed suitable for persons/bodies, organisations and/or countries affected. (3) to develop the capacity and skills of members of the socially and economically disadvantaged communities in such a way that they are better able to identify and help meet the needs and participate more fully in society. (4) to promote human rights (as defined in the universal declaration of human rights and subsequent United Nations conventions and declarations) by ?Obtaining redress for the victims of human rights abuse. ?Relieving need among the victims of human rights abuse. ?Research into human rights issues. ?Providing technical advice to government and others on human rights matters. ?Raising awareness of human rights issues. ?Promoting public support for human rights. ?Promoting respect for human rights among individuals and corporations. ?International advocacy of human rights. ?Eliminating infringements of human rights All in pursuance of equality and diversity and in particular where to do so contributes to the prevention and relief of poverty. (5) to promote sustainable development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs and will be promoted by the preservation, conservation and the protection of the environment and the prudent use of resources, the relief of poverty and the improvement of the conditions of life m socially and economically disadvantaged communities and the promotion of sustainable means of achieving economic growth and regeneration..
