## APPENDIX 1

## Achievements and performance

## Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the financial period

We are immensely grateful to our supporters for their faithfulness and generosity over the years, without which Lifeway Project would not have been able to “make a difference one life at a time’.

We have been able to continue our sponsorship projects in Africa, and it’s encouraging to see how some of these children are able to progress with their education, we have seen some transitioning from primary to secondary school. It's worth noting in this report, that one of our students in Zimbabwe achieved the highest results in GCSE Ordinary (O) Level, in the entire school and is now the school’s head boy, working towards his GCSE Advance (A) Level. We are also able to report that one of our Theological college student graduated, having successfully completed his training as prescribed by Cape Town Baptist Seminary and has now relocated back to his home country Uganda. Our project director continues to offer support to Cumbernauld Baptist Church and in lieu of their appreciation for the services, Lifeway Project has continued to receive financial support from the church.

He has also taken services at Clarkston Baptist Church, where he’s in membership, and we continue to receive financial assistance from their missions’ budget.

It has not currently been possible to restart community activities in the Kennished area. See the “other optional information” section for further detailed explanation.

Brief statement of the charity’s policy on reserves

It is the policy of the charity to deploy financial resources in pursuit of the charitable purposes rather than to accumulate reserves. It is the intent of the trustees to maintain a sufficient operational cash balance to underpin the continuation of the activities of the charity.

## Details of any deficit

There are no funds in deficit.

## Donated facilities and services

(if any) | The Trustees and other volunteers donate their time free of charge to provide activities for the charity beneficiaries.

## APPENDIX 1

## Other optional information

We finally managed to reestablish contact with the new management team of the Kennished Community Hall to discuss the possibility of relaunching our community lunch club and they in principle agreed to our request. Unfortunately, rental rates were increased to levels that are unsustainable and unaffordable at current budget, this has sadly halted our plans to restart the lunch club.

We are at present negotiating and seeking additional funding before we can commit.

At a Lifeway Project Members Meeting held on 22nd March 2023, a decision was unanimously passed, in accordance with Clause 93 of the Constitution, for the removal of the limitation of trustees (Clause 21), to serve for a maximum of two consecutive terms. .

The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator was informed of these amendments and on their request a Certificate Extract of the said meeting and the Amended Constitution was provided for their information.

## Declaration

The trustees declare that they have approved the trustees’ report above.
