**What the charity does:** Comrie & District Mens Shed was established in 2018 assisted by a Social Work start-up grant which aimed to counteract “male social isolation”. Based in “Nissen Hut” premises leased from the Comrie Development Trust (CDT) Shed aims to provide a friendly social environment where older men can interact/ enjoy hobbies with other like-minded individuals, teach/learn from each other and offer the support each member needs. Whether joining to socialize/chat with other members, get back to/learning hobby, craft/activity, Shed aims to support these goals by offering free and easy access to the space/equipment/support they need. We also incorporate two Sub-Committees: (a) “She Shed” for female members and (b) “Veterans Hub” for “forces-related” members and provide a Warm Space during the winter months with hot refreshments. This is a much needed facility in a rural area which is embedded in the local community
