Appointment of Trustees
Trustee5 are appointed in term5 of the Constitution which provides that in each year two Trustees ￿SIgn
at the AGM and are deemed to be rtrappointed at the first meeting of the Trustees the￿atter, in the
absence of any objertioA£. New Tnjstees are required to 5ub5cribe to Scripture Union Scotland's
Statement of Fath and Ethos Statement UF)on their appointrnenl new Trustees a￿ ￿qUired to

Organisational Structure. Governance and Management
The charity became operation31 with effect on and from l April 2021. The Tnjstees are responsible for
managing the affairs of the d)arity. Upon the traI￿er of the assets. liabilities and employees from
Cambu51ang & Rutherglen Reachout Charriable Trust lestablished by a Tru# Deed dated 4 March 1994 -
Scottish Charty Number SC0224591 to the charity {￿erre(l to abovel the Tnjstees delegated the day-to-
day management to a Management Commtttee. the members ofwhich are shown on page 3. In the year
to 31 March 2026 two Trustees were members of the Management Committee. The charIt￿S Workers
attend Management Committee meetlngs and operate under the Committee's authority and dirertion.
The chartty held its AGM on 15 May 2026. Steven Loomes was elerted as Chair of the Trustees. Howard
Hudson'5 appointment a5 a Trustee was approved and he was sub5equerrtly elected as Trustee Secretsry,
while Alan Thomson continues as Trustee Treasurer. following his re-appointment in June 2025. Lyndsey
Cole's appointment as a Trustee was approved atthe prewou5 AGM on 11 June 2025.
At the AGM the Trustee5 considered and approved the Annual Report including the Accounts. The
Trustees also reviewed the risks attendant upon the operation5 of the charity, including financial and
personnel risk&

new calendar year.

As in previous years, our aim was to seNe our local schools in whatever 7Kay we on, building on the
established relationships that our wothers and the charity ￿Ve with the staff, pupi15, and the Institutions
themselves. As well as 5UPPOrtingthe Scripturp Union 8roups, WÈ aimed to continue to contribute to the
lrfe of the sthools through our membership of chaplairKy teawn5, delivering RelEious observan￿ events,
and supporting school residential trips. Thisyearwe have been able to re-StartSU groups in more schools.
We currently have seven group5 runnin& Re-starbng SU groups in the remaining sch¢)oJs will continue to
be one of our priorities forthe next year.
.0. A55embli*s-This year we were aNe to deliver assembl￿5 Fn person wtthin 14 primary schools. two
secondary schooL5 and one A5N secondary school. We delNered on ￿erage g assemblies throughout the
year in pnmary schwls, 4 weeks of assemblies wrthin the secondary schwts and or three this year in
the ASN school.
.M.EI ps.E Lessons-This year for the second time. Ross MU￿a¥ was invited to deliver lessons to first
and secon&year pupils at Trintty H￿h school in pathership with Kate Mitchell frorn the Message Trust
Scotland.
IVS Your Move-This is a prO￿arnMe of bessons coupled wrth a b￿k called IV5 Your M(we that is aimed
atyoung peoplewho are Tnovingfrom primary sthool upto Secondary sthool_ The programme is designed
to help with the transitK¢n during 5tres5tul period We were able to delrverthis in 14 primary schools
in June.
Christmas Um¥¥ap￿- a creative and tnteractive presentstion of the Christmas story. The presentation
is usually delivered in 15 of the local primary schools and is aimed at primary 6 pupils. This year wè were
able to dellverthe programme in 13 scknols.
Easter Code- similar to Christma5 Unwrap￿. Easter Code is a creative and interattwe presentation of
the Easter story. Thisyearwe were able to dElÈver propct to 15 sthool5.
Boomer3ng-Thi5 is a cTralive and interactive projectdesignedto ￿lpYoung ￿ople in primarysto refiect
on the subject of resilience. We were able to deliver this proyamme to 14 5choDJs acrossthe area.
Buddy UP!_This programme 15 designed to support older primary pupils as theytake on the role of being
buddyfora primaryl pupil.Thi5yearwewereable todeliverthis programme in 141(Kal primary school
BibleAllve- Laura Hutchirfjon finished writing material for toth Old and NewTestsment lessons. Shethen
piloted the Old Testament lessor6 in two local primary sthwls and delNered it in a fvrther two primary
schools. The hope isto build on this nextyear 3nd deliver the whole project in all the primary schools we

Churches
We aim to support lotal churches ￿ faolitste them in theiryouth ministry. This year we continued to run
full day holiday clubs in partnership wf(h local churthes. We were ableto runthe tsv¢Trday dub in April and

Jo. two43y club5 in August. Unfortunate￿. we were unableto run the ontrday dub in November due to
other commrf(ments. We continued to communicate with local churches through our quarter￿ prayer
letter and ts¥ice-yearly newsletter as we51 as sending Outvideo message5 throughout the year.
The team were able to 5UPWrt both primary and secondary residential weekends for sCh￿IS and SU
oups in Lanarkshire which continued to take place and were attended primary and 5et0ndary school
thildren from 5choo15 and Ihurches vrithin the area.
This year KXI continued as the culmination of ourwtsTk wtthin the schools amongst yourkg people in
the area at the SU Scotland holiday at King5cross Point on the151e of Arrarh. Itwas great to be able to work
with 42 young people atthrs eventwith 3team led by and made up nN)sdy of b(al volunteers.
Comm
Dueto staff changes and the amount of other work needing done this year we have not been involved in
any communityeventsthis year. As set otrt on page 9.this is beingaddressed bythe recruoiment of a third
Youth and Scknols Worker.
Over recent years many young people ha¥e come into tonixt with the tharity and have been hearing of
the Good Mews of Jesus Chri5L of these young people have gone on to develop and grow in their
faith. This has resulted in a group ofyoung leader5 who are volunteering in many events with the charity
as well as their churthes. This has L￿n a huge encouragement to us and has been recognised as
something worth investing in. This yearwe were able to runtwo training days forthe young leaders with
support from SU Scotland. We continued to encourage the young people to attend SU leadership and
disapleship events. with a few tsking up thKs opportunity- Several of these young adults attended KXI 35
trainee leaders or group leaders and rn0￿ weie involved in Holiday dubs. We are hoping to be able to
organise another trainingday for them next year.

of £1,76S in the General Fund forthe preceding year. The General Fund cash surplus wa5 arrived at after
transFerring £36.(MXJ to an unrestricted des￿nated furKI forspttt31 projects. In total. across all funds the
was a cash surplus of £36,956 forthe year.
Durin8 the year £IO.LKiI of T￿￿t Income was re￿1ve￿ for restritted purposes to fvnd the 8ible Alive
project. This amount Is shown as a receÈpt to a restrirted lund for the Bible Alive project. The gtsnt was
utilized in full during the year wtth relevant Costs irKurred relatin8 to the Bttjle Aive project allocated to
this fund.
Total re￿Ipts fortheyear3cr055 allfuvK15amDuntedto£145,057.an increase of £65,916fromthe previou5
year. The most Significant increase was the increase in individual supporter donations, including gift aid,
of 43.9301£90,464 compared to £46,534 during the previou5 yearl. There was also an increase of £1.077
in donations from Churches1£14,882 versus £13.8051. In addition, there was an increase of £7.OLK) in
respert of grants received from Trusts during the year1£25,8(M) cunpared to £18,8(K) in the previous
financial yearl. Further. the TtU5t also benefited frorn a legxy of £13.598, r￿fiVÈd from the estate of the

late Rodney Bessent. There bvas 3150 an increase in interest of £313. Partial￿ offset by a redtjction in
miscelhneous re￿Ipts of £2.
Total payments made during the year amounted to £108.101. an increase of E30,725 from the previous
year. The principal cost in the operation of the charity is staff costs, includiEhg salaries. These costs
increased by £20,204 during the year1£82,322 compared to £61118 during the previous yearl following
the recruitment of Laura Hutchinson durbng the prewious financÈal year. from August 2024.
During January the Trust moved irto a new office in CaM￿sIa￿ As a resutt. Offi￿ rentsl and other
property related costs of £10.854 We￿ incurred durtnEtheyear. This included the c05t of refvrblshingthe
office together with other Offi￿ set-up costs. There wa5 a150 an irKrease of £1,264 in the amounts spent
on projects and events1£7,124 versus £5,8FA) in the prewous year), and £213 in othercosts1£4.852 versus
£4.6391. Partially offsetting these increa5e5. thÈrÈ vrds a rÈduttiork of £1.210 in communication costs
1£2340 £3.5501. aThJ a reduction of £6￿ in capital expenditure1£309 Vers￿ £9091.
The Trustees remain conscious of the ongoing challenge to ensu￿ that there is sufficient income to meet
the level of expenditure being incurred. The Trustee5 continue in their efforts to secure funding from
individual donors and grant awarding bodie5 to prooJre sufficient income to meet ongoing expenditure.
They wTrll be sp¢¢ificalty aimin8 to procure grants and awards to produce 5Uth income over a three year
period and thereby ensure the securrty of employment for the staff going fonward.

In August and September 20Z5. the Staff. Management CoMM￿ee and Tnjstees undertook a full review
of the directKJn. strategy and priorikne5 of thework of thÈ charity. andthe rolesaTra responsibilities of each
of the team members. This has resulted in R055 Murray. our senior worker taking more responsibility for
leading and m3naging the tezm and bel￿ involved less on 'front44ne' aLtivities in the schoo15. HIS role
going to￿ardS will continue to transition towards developing stratew and providing leadership and
pastoral rare forthe team.
In January 2026. the charity twk FossessÉon of a neWOffi￿ at 17B Main Stree¢ Cambus13n& rented from
South Lanarkshire Council. During February arLd Marth 2026. the premises were painted and fitted out

At the same time, getting SLI Groups restarted in the remaining 5dKbols remains a priority- School SU
Group5 depend upon hawng the necessary volunteers available which can be challenging. Ross MU￿aY
will be takingthe lead in e￿OUragIng and devekiping newvolunteersfor this purpose. The ideal outcome
would be that ihe a￿deThiC year 2026127 would end wtth all the groups restsrted, but the charity is being
realistic about this, it being mole important to get new groups solidly established arKI continulng into the
longer term than to have EfoTJPS set up Quickly but failtng to become established.
The charity had already benefited greatyfrom the apposntmerTtlsfshona Baird 35 the new Admin assistant
in March 2024. The irnpK)rtan￿ of her contribution has been such that from the beginning of the fi¥Jancial
year commencing l ApTtI 2026, Shon*s hours have once again been increased, and She has been
appointed to the position of Office and Projects Manager. Going forwards. this will enable her to
contribute more widely to the work of the charity- manawng the office. organising the projects and
providing support for the otherworkers.
A further siEnifi¢ant development is the appointment of Jamie Gurting on a fvlktime ba515 a5 the fourth
metnbèr of the tÈam. He will take up his position on l August 2026 as a Youth and Schools Worker. Along
with helpingwtth the other projects. the intention 15 to utili5eJamie in dèveloping work in the community.
