Introdurtion
We are a regislered charily Scotland independent of ihe City of Edinburgh Council which operat*s
Benmore Outdoor Education Centre at Dunoon. Argyll & Bute_ We are sn'll a fledgling charity but trying hard
to increase our activity throLJgh raising funds and making awards to enhance the learning experienke of
young people visitt.ng Benmore.
The charity was coristt"tuted as a Two Tier organi5atr.on on 18 December 2018. However. as yel, obr onlv
members are the Trustees.

2024. The appointmeni ol the Chair 15 reviewed annually. Applican'ons for new Trltrsiees are invited as and
when required and appointment5 are made with regard to their experience and ski115 relevont to o¥r
objectrve5. Tru5tee5 Andrew Beveridge ènd Angelo Kerr live in the vicinity of Benmore Outdoor Ceitre and
provide an important link with the local community of Dunoon.

Summary of the rnain artivitles and achievernents In 2024
We received a signifi'cant donan.on durin8 2024 from the Asien-jones Trust when il was dissolved. We made
one payment to the Dunoon Grammar School Transinon Projert as a commitment from the Asten-knnes
Tru51.
We raised a small amovnt of money Irom a fund-raisin8 orienteering event in Dunoon and at Benrmre
Centre.
We made a further application to the Communities Fund for money to inslall a floating pontoon al the canoe
and kayak statr.on at Lock Eck to lacilitale access to craft for young people with mobility difficultr'es visib'ng at
Benmore or from the local community, bul the applicatr.on was unsuccessful. We intend to contr'nL* to apply
for funds for this project.
Otherwise. In 2024 we established lurther essential operating policies, such as Social Media Policy. which are
hosted on the City of Edinburgh Council 'experienceoutdoors' website. since we do not. as yet, havt
Sufficient funds to launch our own website.
Governance

Trustees met remotely by Teams twice durin8 2023 and once face-to-face at Benmore Outdoor Ce
tre.
We are continuing a discussion with some very prominent people local to Dunoon with the aim of )ppointin8
Patrons.
Financial review
As mentioned above. there were few fi.nancial transattions in 2024.
Our bank balance at the end of 2024 stood al £]￿6.
We are organising other fund-raising activities for 2025.
How our charity delivers Public Benefit
It is our inlentr.on thal all our charitable acrivities focus directly or indirectly on enhancing the experience of
young people visiting Benmore Centre for ouidoor adventure and learning, lo appreciate the valu¢ of the
natural environment and our need to Sustain il. These will further focus on those youn8 people w￿7 need
the greate5l 511PPOrt.
Future developments
Up to now we have pursued a modus operondi of applying io sources of funds for the support of c
pilal
projects, e.g. for easier access io craft at Loch Eck. so far without Success. We will contr.nue with this with
greater collaborab'on with the local community. bui also try to grow and diversify our funding sourte5 50 thal
we have flexibility to respond to a ran8e ol applications to 5UPPOrt acts'vities that meet our declare•
obiectives and deliver public beneh'i.
