Cymera Festival is an annual celebration of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror (SFFH) writing that aims to celebrate the enjoyment of those genres by bringing together writers and readers from Scotland and beyond, to share ideas, create stories and nurture imagination. Over three days Cymera curates a diverse and inclusive programme of literary events with speakers from Scotland and further afield. Using a mixture of free and ticketed events, Cymera features workshops, talks and debates as well as offering social events such as a quiz. Additionally, Cymera focuses on professional development opportunities for genre writers, and celebrates the power of storytelling. Through staging a successful and first class festival, with other events throughout the year Cymera contributes towards breakingdown the boundaries between genre writing and general fiction and highlights its literary merit.
