Trustees’ Annual Report
Hall Hire Agreement
The Trustees successfully negotiated a revised hall hire agreement with the local council. Payments are now made monthly by direct debit rather than annually in advance, improving cash flow management and financial planning. Charges still apply for booked sessions cancelled in advance; however, the revised arrangement provides greater financial flexibility overall.
Coaching Development
The club continued to invest in coach education and development throughout the year, despite a reduction in coach numbers due to maternity leave, relocation, and university commitments. Efforts are ongoing to recruit and retain new coaches, including former gymnasts returning to support the club.
Key qualifications achieved during 2024–2025 included:
-
Multiple Level 1 and Level 2 Trampolining awards
-
Level 3 Trampolining theory qualification
-
DMT Club Coach awards
-
Level 1 Gymnastics and Acrobatic Gymnastics coaching courses
The Trustees also welcomed the return of several former coaches and volunteers supporting classes and display teams.
Equipment Purchases
Significant investment was made in new equipment to support training and competition preparation, including:
-
AirDot, Air Ramp Vault and AirBox
-
Jersey mats and roll mats
-
Additional gymnastics mats and general equipment upgrades
Fundraising
The annual Harbucks fundraising event in July raised approximately £12,000. Funds generated have supported equipment purchases, coaching courses, Gymfest participation, IRCC team support, and competition fees. The Trustees acknowledge the continued support of parents and volunteers in delivering this successful event.
Competitions and Events
Gymnasts represented the club at a range of regional and national events throughout the year, including:
-
Scottish National TRA and DMT Championships
-
Gymfest Edinburgh
-
IRCC Qualifiers
-
NTL Competitions
-
Glitterball Gymnastics Competition
The club also celebrated success in winning the Northern Trampolining League (NTL) Trophy in June 2025.
Turriff Classes
Due to limited coach availability, the Trustees made the difficult decision to pause the Turriff classes. Alternative spaces were offered within the Macduff programme, with the majority of gymnasts successfully transferring.
Donside Aberdeen / Banks O’ Dee Classes
From January 2025, Donside became part of Alvah, with classes operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Coaching staff continue to manage day-to-day delivery, while the club oversees administration and financial management. Recruitment efforts in the Aberdeen area have resulted in new memberships and continued programme growth.
Looking Forward
The Trustees remain committed to providing accessible gymnastics and trampolining opportunities for the local community at both recreational and competitive levels. Priorities for the coming year include:
-
Recruiting and developing new coaches
-
Supporting athlete progression pathways
-
Expanding leadership and qualification opportunities for young people
-
• Maintaining affordable participation costs for members
