Aclilevement's and perfomiance
Summary ofthe maln
achlevements of the ¢harlty du￿n9 2024 was another busy year for Torran￿ Tennis Club, with a
the flnan¢lal perlod
huge amount of hard work being put in by committee members to
continue to improve the club.
The primary focus has been on fundraising and seeking external
funding to allow us to resurface the sorely dilapidated courts. With
a great deal of effort and no little arrn twisting and pleading, we
were by the yearfs end able to put pen to paper on the contract for
the works to be carried out in earfy 20251 A full report on the
resurfacing is now available - please ask for a copyl
In the meantime, we have continued to offer children's tennis
essons. both for booking and by direct arrangement with Torran
Primary School.
'. Weekty'social tennis" sessions have continued, with a hardcore of i
members continuing to tum out come rain or shine.
l Towards the end of the year we were able to secure a Rural
Community Grant, securing project funding to allow for indoor
tennis activities for children over the winter months. Again. we
were able to collaborate with Torran￿ Primary Sch(x)I to ensure
maximum benefft of these free sessions among the young people
of the village. This funding also allowed us to trial pickleball
sessions which proved very popular and has led to ongoing
pickleball at Torrance Tennis Club. We are grateftjl to the
Caldwell Halls who hosted th￿be sessions.
