APPENDIX 1
Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of
Ihe charity during the financial period
Spike Aware UK has continued its campaign to raise awareness about the
dangers associated with all fomis of spiking.
The charity's workload is increasing each year, and our role is
growing significantly in political matters. We are actively involved
in proposed amendments to the Crime and Policing Bill, which will
soon be considered by the UK Parliament. Our ongoing
engagement with both the Scottish and UK Parliaments
necessitates increased travel, particularly to Westminster, resulting
in higher associated costs.
Media engagement has also expanded due to our participation in efforts to
change the law. We are receiving more requests for appearances across
various media channels. including television, radio, print. and social
media.
Our frontline outreach remains a priority, especially among
students at universities, schools, and colleges. The number of
presentations at schools has risen considerably. We continue to
collaborate closely with Community Officers from Police Scotland
and regularly participate in public engagement initiatives alongside
officers, interacting with both community members and licensees.
Desprte these advancements, funding remains a signrficant challenge.
With growing demands from various sources, including parfiamentary
inquiries, it is essential that we secure additional financial support beyond
current levels.
