IGC delivers gymnastics activities - both as recreational activity, and competitive pathways. It promotes the sport through a wide range of classes for different ages and abilities as well as working with in community via schools and other organisations. Additionally, the charity plans and delivers competitions for a wider network of regional clubs. The club also works to increase the capacity for people to work in the sport of gymnastics, supporting employment locally as a secondary objective.

Objectives: The organisation has been formed with the following purpose: To encourage public participation in the amateur sport of gymnastics by young persons of all abilities, particularly in Inverness and the surrounding areas, by providing gymnastics facilities, activities and training to improve the fitness, health and well-being of the persons for whom the activities are intended
