We own and run a community building offering a community café, rooms/ space for hire, craft classes, training and volunteering opportunities and various projects to improve the health and wellbeing of the local community. We lease 4 community allotments and associated buildings/ space to maintain our gardening opportunities and produce food for the café. We provide a place to meet, socialise, and engage in activity with a purpose. We also provided a regular community meal and community events to allow social meet-ups and in the former case a guaranteed hot meal for any folk struggling, something that is also a benefit to those attending volunteer sessions. We provide activities accommodating local interests [based on a community survey] in such topics as forest skills, the arts, and in getting outdoors for gardening, fitness and therapeutic reasons. Task based training is provided in the café and gardens. We offer training rides and refurbish bikes to encourage active travel.
