VICS In The Community was established in 2018 with the aim of providing opportunities for people living in North Ayr through football. North Ayr is recognised as the most deprived community in South Ayrshire and in the top 5% in Scotland. Our trustees understand the challenges in the area including poverty, financial exclusion, mental wellbeing, crime and drug and alcohol and this is the main reason why VICS was set up. Despite the challenges our trustees also recognised the opportunity to build a resilient community through football. Bringing community development and football together will help improve outcomes while also creating a positive identity for North Ayr.

Beneficiaries: 'Children or young people'

Objectives: The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 The advancement of public participation in football covering all ages and abilities. 4.2 To utilize funds to assist those in need within our community, with the provision of meals during the corona virus outbreak and at other relevant times 4.3 The Charity has following Covid a much wider social focus, and is committed to a comprehensive approach of our football strategy working together with our community support programme which aims to ensure that we help the community by providing targeted support via Mental health and access to or signposting to other services which the public require. 4.4 The Charity has agreed a 25 year lease of the football pitch and pavilion at Whitletts Activity Centre. The Charity will operate the facility, and is empowered to raise funds for the upgrading of the pavilion.
