The organisation’s purposes are: 1) To advance the education of the public in the archaeology, history, culture, natural history, and other features of life in the islands of Rousay, Egilsay and Wyre 2) And in furtherance thereof 3) To increase public awareness of appreciation of and engagement with the natural and cultural heritage of the islands 4) To support and encourage, for public benefit, the study, stewardship, and protection of the heritage of the islands. We do this by having information available to all on the history and social history of our three islands. We hold annual walks and talks with UHI archaeological professors and teachers. We hold activities on the cultural and historical sites and work with the two annual excavations held on Rousay to share the finds and information from the universities carrying our the excavations to our island residents and visitors.
