Objectives and activities
Charllable purpo808
The advancement of cltizenshlp and community development through
supporting those at risk, experiencing, or recovering from addiction by
encouraging active and positive citizenship through volunteering and
community re-engagement. Raising awareness of the causes of addictlon
& its related mental health issues with the purpose of reducing stigma,
marginalisation and isolation.
The relief of those in need by reason of addiction and its causes and
consequences, (including addiction related mental health. social isola￿on,
povety and disadvantage). Through facilitating one to one support
sessions, group sessions, support groups, workshops, training, social
activities, signposting. events and participation in Freedom Fighlers
programmes.
During the year, Freedom Fighters Community Action Initiative delivered
a range of activities directly aligned with its charitable purposes. The
charity provided weekly one-lo￿ne therapeutic support and counselling
sessions for individuals affected by addiction. trauma, mentsl health
challenges, poverty, and social isolation. These sessions were delivered
by two qualified therapists and one trainee counsellor. offering
accessible. trauma-infomed care.

The orqanisation also invested siqnificantly in strenotheninq community
support and recovery spaces by renovating and developing a new
Trauma Recovery Hub. This hub was created to provide a safe.
welcoming environment for therapeutic services. support groups,
workshops and wellbeing activities that contribute to improved emotional
resilience and community engagement.
In addition. the charity facilitated group sessions, retreats, and
community-building events designed to promote positive citizenship.
encourage re-engagement with community life. reduce stigma. and
promote recovery from addiclion and its related issues. These activities
supported individuals in developinq stability, connection. confidence. and
long-temi wellbeing.

1. Development of the Trauma Recovery Hub
This year's major achievement was the complete renovation and
transfomiation of an old office space into a fully functioning Trauma
Recovery Hub.

Throughout the year, the charity provided weekly trauma-infomied
counselling sessions, delivered by:

This support has been central to the charfty's mission, offering

wellbeing.
Retreals & CommunSty Wellbelng Events
The charity successfully ran three major retreats, each serrflng a distlnct
group and meeting significant community need:
Men's Fathered by God Retreat
approx. 30 altendees
Focused on emtional resilience, IdentSty, and recovery in a supportive
envSronment.
Captlvating Women's Retreal - approx. 40 attendees
A retreat cenlred on healing, empowerment, and personal restoration.
New Year "Resilient" Retreat - approx. 45 attendees
A mixed-group retreat offering tools for emotional resilience, fresh starts.
and deeper wellbeing heading into the new year.
These events have become a key part of the charty's annual
programme, strengthening community connection and providing
accessible wellbeing support.
4. The Freedom Fiohter Podcasl
The FF podcast had 3500 listens from 42 cities from 32 different
counlries over the course of this year.

||The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance<br>with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 (“the 2005<br>Act”) and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended) (“the 2006<br>Regulations”). The charity’s trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation<br>10(1)(d) of the 2006 Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the<br>accounts as required under section (44) (1)(c) of the 2005 Act and to state whether<br>particular matters have come to my attention.|||||||
||My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Regulations.<br>An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a<br>comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration<br>of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the<br>trustees concerning any such matters.
