Achlevements and perfomiance
1. The Museum opened lo ihe public Friday 3rd of May 2024. got over 100
visitor8 on the day and receivad very vAnn feedback on the displays. The display8
included.. The Story of The Drovers: Railways in Stratsam; A MKI 20th
Century L*'s Room (P￿tUred) and Genys Roorn as well as a chId￿n'S comer
where there were period toys and dressing up oulffts. We also re￿IVed a gift of the
Ileclion of books of kul interest which were made available
for mernbers of the public to r&*l.

date.

10. Vle were successful in apptying for £10.000 per year for 3 year5 from
Gannochy Twst and also fijnding from Communty Led Local Development to
fund major improvements to the large upstairs room in the Museum.
11. The Museum added an exhibition on The Earthquake House in Comrie
which dates back to 1874. This included a model of the original "Malle
seismograph as well as Some more up to date printouts of the Fukushima
earthquake in 2011.
12. The Museum also put on an exhibition lo coincth with the reopening of the
Murray Fountain in James Square after its refurt)ishment. This induded the
original key which was used in the ￿lginal opening ceremony of the Fountain.
13. Our total number of visitor8 in our first year open was 2276 adults. 220
children and 45 teens. According to our visitor book we re(tived visitors from
all over the world:

14. At the end of October when our season ended ￿ had a thankyou party for all
our volunteers which was much enjoyed by all.

1 S. Vve advertised for and employed a Museum Manager who started on 5th
January 2025.
16. As well as our continued M￿nbershIp of Tayside Museums Forum and
Heritage Trust Network we also joined the Association of Independent Muwms.
Flnanclal revlew
The organisation cafefvlly managed resources to ensure capital dev*prnents could
be del￿ered as planned whHe ensuring funds were available for op8rational
purposes. DuriTrJ the year the charity rai8ed £51,916 and spent £37.816 a¢hleviNJ a
surplus for the year of £13.841.

The charity will to hold Lmrestrided fund$ lo cover 3 months of operational

Donated facilities and services
Our trustees and volunleern collectivety devoted many hundred8 of hours of unpakl
time. Our architedufal adviser. ￿rOWIded expert advte at no thaTge
as wel a5 SUPPOrt our website. and
Tartan Ambassador, deswned
our tartan free of charge. In addition, ￿EMberS 01 the publiG made generous
donakn'ons of cash and aitifacts.
Future plans
Following our succ&ssful first year we applied for and succeeded in winning funding
to renovate the larger upstairs room which Indudes a timeline of the Strathearn area
from neolithic times until the prewL wll continue to w(xk hard to present
interesting and informalive displays on local history and Gjfture. We hope to reach
out lo local organisati￿S such as SGh<M)Is aJK1 scouts I guides to give them access to
our facilities.

The Museum will continue to work with other Strathearn communty organisations for the
benefit of the area.
The Museum will continue to identify or4)ortunities to improve the building arKJ has a
