Objectives and activities

Broch Community First Responders are a group of volunteers who complete training to allow them to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service when there is no Ambulance available ~~.~~ We volunteer in our free time to work alongside the Ambulance Service to help save lives ~~.~~

We train every week to keep our skills up and we are always learning new things ~~.~~ We are able to attend to patients suffering from breathing issues, having seizures, cardiac arrests along with a few other illnesses ~~.~~

We rely on donations and fundraising to purchase any equipment that we need to ensure we carry out our duties to a very high standard ~~.~~

We carry out fundraising throughout the year to allow the public to meet all our Responders and give them a chance to understand better what it is that we do ~~.~~

Achievements and performance

We have continued to assist the Scottish Ambulance Service with delivering a high standard of care to those who are in need ~~.~~

We have continued to receive donations from the generous community of Fraserburgh and surrounding areas ~~.~~

We have been managed to carry out some public training and fundraising events ~~.~~

We are currently recruiting new volunteers for our team ~~.~~

Financial review

Our group would always like to have a reserve in the bank of approximately £5000 ~~.~~ This will be used to cover Liability insurance and insurance to cover all our kits ~~.~~ We also supply equipment required for saving lives and uniforms for our volunteers ~~.~~ We would also like to keep a reserve to replace any equipment that may break, has been used or needs replaced ~~.~~

At present we have more than our reserve in the bank ~~.~~ This is due to the kind donations that we have received from the public in our area ~~.~~ We have bought pads for defibs as they have been used and to have a spare stock in the stores for when pads are used ~~.~~

The group has been given the opportunity to use the United Reformed Church hall free of charge to carry out any training that may be required ~~.~~

Independent Examiner's Report to the Trustees of

Broch Community First Responders

Registered Charity Number: $C048173

| report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 1 May 2025 which are set out on pages 8 to 11.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the terms of the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Charities Accounts (Scotland) Regulations 2006 (as amended). The charity trustees consider that the audit requirement of Regulation 10(1) (d) of the 2006 Accounts Regulations does not apply. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts as required under section 44(1) (c) of the Act and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

Basis of independent examiner's statement

My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

Independent examiner's statement

In the course of my examination, no matter has come to my attention

  1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements:

  2. e to keep accounting records in accordance with Section 44(1) (a) of the 2005 Act and Regulation 4 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations

  3. e to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with Regulation 9 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations

have not been met, or

  1. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
