Charltable purposes
To advance the musical tuition and educayon of the puplls of Lewls ènd Harrls and others In the
traditlon, heritage, an(J culture of ￿pe music by prO￿dIng and a55istiThJ in the provtsion of the Leuris and
Harris Youth Pipe Band,. and
To advan￿ the education of the publlc generalty through publlc performance by the Lewls and Harrls
Youth Pipe Band of pipe mus1C.
Actlvlties and achievements
In the past year, the Band were able to compete at two competits'ons, The Scottish School Pipe Band
Championships and the Workl Plpe Band Charnpion5hips, costs for these trips has Increased by 5Wo due
to accommodation costs and cost of food for band members. Thls year was another busy year for the
band attendlng communlty events and also saw the Band enter Into partnership with Stornoway Port
Authorlty to welcome cruise ship5 docking at both the new deep water port and in the town ￿'ers. Grant
fundlng also enabled us to purchase unifomis for new members. Drumming tuition continued In the
schools and we also held a drummlng workshop. The Development Band continues wSth regular workshops
to progress members to the main band.
Future plans
The Band will also again ￿ taking part in Scottish Schools competition In Mèrch 2025 and at least one
other malnL4nd competition, as funds allow. New equipment will a150 be sourced to ensure the Band has
adequate in5trurnents for all members,

I report on the Kcounts of the tharfty for the year ended 30 September 2024 whlch are set out on pages

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
The charity's trustees are responslble for the preparation of the accounts In accordan￿ wlth the terms of
the Charlties and TrLlStee Jnveslrnent Iscouandl Art 2005 Vthe 2005 Att,) and the Charities Accounts
(Scotl3ndl Regulations 2006 (as amended) fthe 2006 Regulalionsl. The charity's trustees consider that
the audit requirement of Regulation 10(Illdl of the 2006 Regulations does not apply. It Is my
sponsibility to exèmine the accounts as required under sectSon 44111(cl of the 2005 Act and to stste
whether particuL3r matters have come to rny attention.
Basls of Independent examlnerf5 Statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Regulations. An examination
ncludes a review of the accounting records kept by the charlty and a comparkon of the accounts
presented with those records. It also Includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the
accounts, and seeks explanations from the trustees con￿rnIng any such matters. The prO￿dureS
undertsken do not provlde all the evldentt that would be required in an audlt, and con5equentty I do not
express an audlt op1n1￿ on the view glven by the actounts.
